The 3rd greek independence war was the third part of greek revolution after the first greek independence war and operation turkish delight. It was a part of the third world war.

Declaration of war
After around one and a half months of peace between greece and turkey the war started. Turkish government decided to attack greece with no official reason. The war started at the first days of august.
Cause of the war
Most people on the world believed that turkey declared war to greece to gain control over central greece to save their economy which was crippling.
A greek newspaper named "i eleftheri apopsi" (the free opinion) gave evidence about that.
Course of the war
Turks attacked to attica and thrace. Greeks defended these regions.Some moments before the end of the battles turkey attacked crete but Greeks retreated to gain the offensive. The next day pelloponese,thessaly and epirus were independent after months.The next day Crete and ionian isles followed. The final day (august 15th 2009-a holy day for Greeks in RL) aegean was libertated an greece is free.
Retries of the turks for an offensive
Turks tried 3 time for re-occuping greek lands the first they gained aegean isles.After that they attacked peloponnese,macedonia and attica but greeks defended and regained aegean. The other 2 turks attacked aegean and lost. The war is still officialy ongoing-but 'de facto' it is over with greek victory and complete independence of all greek territories.
Peace's stance
PEACE GC officially was neutral but many people saw peace money and tanks getting in the battlefield.
Importance for WWIII
According to the newspaper "i eleftheri apopsi"(the free opinion)--> The importance for WWIII of the greek strrugle was huge. Greece was the first country that resisted peace forces. This gave to all the free people courage to fight. Turkish economy crippled and now the damage caused by turkey was seriously decreased. PEACE countries started demaning back their regions. Canadian and spanish forces found cover to recover their countries land.
