The "Alianza Latino Americana", translated as "Latin American Alliance" is a regional alliance for Latin American nations. It has ten official members and many possible future members. ALA's objective is to integrate Latin American countries' economic and military aspects to make Latin America a stronger region in the game. ALA is based on the Real Life European Union.

History

Latin American countries in eRepublik saw how they didn't grow much compared to other countries of the world. While Venezuela and Mexico were part of PEACE GC, Argentina was fighting for ATLANTIS. During the events of the Indonesian-Brazilian invasion to Argentina in December/08, ATLANTIS alliance didn't defend Argentina, who lost three of its six regions. This caused some conflict between Argentina and ATLANTIS, which led to it leaving the alliance and ultimately joining PEACE GC. In the meanwhile, Chile was created and also joined PEACE GC.

A small group of remarkable citizens, T and Pier as leaders, Reina Borg from Argentina, Chuck Norris from Chile, Dhoo from Mexico, Lesmir Ledezma from Venezuela, and Benito_Camelas from the Colombian community, founded a new front to make stronger and united Hispanicamerican community and the Latin American Alliance was created (at that time called as Hispano-American Alliance).

In April of 2009, the administration of the game announced the creation of five new nations in South America: Colombia, Paraguay, Bolivia, Uruguay and Peru.

The ALA was created with the objective of growing Chile, Argentina, Venezuela and Mexico stronger, starting as a sub-alliance of PEACE GC. Mexico, Chile, Venezuela and Argentina signed ALAs charter between May 27th and June 5th of 2009, creating an official the alliance.

After that, once the Brazil and Argentina war was over and the Argentinian original region of Mesopotamia was returned, Brazil requested its admission as an ALA state member. After a controversial poll, Brazil become the fifth state member of ALA.

Once the administration of the game created the states of Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Peru, these countries sent their representatives to the ALA. When they got a national Congress and President, the four new Latin American countries requested admission to the ALA. After the debate and poll in the Security Council, by unanimity the four new Latin American countries entered the Alliance as full members.

Spain started relations to join and reform the Charter against PEACE GC and Brazil, however, Brazil was already a full state member - effectively breaking the language barrier-, so Spain retired its request to join the alliance.

In August, 2009, ALA became an independent alliance from PEACE GC

Timeline

  • In June 18th, 2009, Paraguay and Uruguay sent representatives to ALA.
  • In June 25th and July 5th, ALA saved the new Latinoamerican countries from imminent takeovers.
  • In July 9th, 2009, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay officially joined ALA.
  • In July 15th, 2009 Bolivia had decided it would like to seek entrance into ALA
  • Bolivia joins the alliance on August 17th.

Relations with other alliances

Atlantis ALA was created some days prior to Atlantis' death. All members of ALA were enemies of Atlantis. ALA fought against Atlantis only once, when Spain invaded Mexico.

PEACE GC All founding members of ALA are also members of PEACE Global Community. The fifth member, Brazil, is also member of PEACE. The new South American countries are also all part of PEACE, except Peru. However, both alliances have not met with each other since July.

Brolliance Mexico has a NAP with the United States. Many wars between Latin American countries and Anglo Americans have been fought. The most recent is the Colombian-USA war, caused by Mexico allowing a region swap with Colombia to block the American offensive, however ALA did not enter the war. ALA is working in cooperation with the Brolliance.

Sol Argentina is observer member of Sol. The alliances have good diplomatic relations.

Members

There are ten member nations in the ALA and some possible future member nations who are interested in the project. Similar to it's sister alliance PEACE GC, ALA has a Security Council consisting of at least three representatives from each nation.
