Academy was a UK party founded on the idea of mentoring and training players who wish to pursue political careers beyond the regular Congressional seats. This involves one-to-one tutoring, education within specific ministries, shadowing existing Ministers and governmental figures, building and developing contact networks and the improvement of public image.

Founded in early October 2012 by Ergo Deus, Academy aims to increase and improve the talent pool in UK politics. For clarification, the in-game party shows Academy's ideology as Center-Libertarian but the party actually doesn't maintain any social or economical leaning. We are politically-neutral, focusing only on the development of experienced, skilled non-partisan politicians.

Concept Overview

Mentoring

A program that offers a general explanation of the operation of government. Providing overviews and introductions to each of the ministries, roles and offices of government. If specific citizens with extensive backgrounds in ministries or areas of government are available, prospective players will be assigned to them to ask, learn and be educated about the ins and outs of the ministry they wish to get involved with.

Shadowing

Following the arrangement with incumbent ministers and government officials, members will be able to shadow them. In contrast to being directly mentored or trained by someone with experience in an area of government, they get to witness and experience the actual day to day activity of the person involved.

Contact Networks

With obvious groundwork and preparation, members would be introduced to influential and key members in the national and global community. This potentially includes in-game friendships, getting access to bottom level/non-critical Government or Alliance channels for the day to meet people and getting to interview important politicians from around the World.

Public Image

In cooperation with popular journalists in the UK (and potentially further afield), members will be interviewed about their political aspirations and accomplishments to raise their public profile, increase their exposure to voters and generally develop their political image.
