The Brazil-Spain War was a trans-Atlantic conflict between Brazil and Spain. It is part of both the South American and Western European fronts of World War V.

The war was temporarily suspended on April 18th, when Poland entered the conflict in the Poland-Brazil War, and took over the front. After Poland was defeated the war would resume when Brazil once again attacked Spain on May 14, 2011 in a second attempt to invade. Brazil's invasion would coincide with the USA-Spain War as both nations once again reentered the Iberian Peninsula.

The conflict was primarily between the ONE and Terra alliances.

Background

The war was a result of Brazil attempting to relieve some of the pressure that France was experiencing during the Third Spain-France War, in which the country of France was being attacked by Spain in the south and Poland in the north. At the time of the initial Brazilian assault, France had been effectively cut in half by joint ONE-allied forces. France, a member of the Terra alliance, was in desperate need of assistance by its allies.

At the same time, the USA had engaged Spanish forces during the USA-Spain War in a joint Terra attack upon the Spanish homeland.

April 6, 2011 - Poland and Spain (ONE) advance into France (Terra).

Initially Brazil made strong advancements into Spanish territory, however, by this time Germany had been reduced to only one territory (Saarland) in the Second Poland-Germany War and could no longer assist to any large degree in the conflict. Additionally, Croatia had been fully conquered by Serbia during the concurrent Fourth Balkan War and therefore were free to began assisting their ONE allies in the west. During the course of the war Romania would also be conquered by ONE-allied Hungary, making even more ONE forces available for the front.

This would force Brazil further back out of Spanish territories and place Terra firmly on the defense.

During this time the USA would also engage Spain through their colonies in allied-Portugal after a failed attempt to oust Poland from occupied Mexico.

Meanwhile, the UK attempted to enter the Third Spain-France War through Belgium, in an effort to relieve stress on Terra allies, but met with heavy resistance and then shortly thereafter faced reciprocal attacks upon their own homeland.

Eventually ONE forces were able to repel the Terra attacks and take the initiative, with a simultaneous Spanish invasion of North of Brazil and Maryland on April 6, 2011.

Spain would briefly secure North of Brazil and attempt a further offensive, however, were ultimately repelled and removed from Brazilian land. Brazil would then begin its own counter attack, conquering tthe Canary Islands a second time and continuing to attack further into the Spanish mainland.

After days of fighting in Spain the war would be suspended when Poland conquered the Canary Islands by way of occupied territories in Mexico. Poland would then launch a major offensive against the Brazilian mainland in the following days. This would transfer ONE forces to Polish control in what would become the Poland-Brazil War.

Eventually Poland was defeated and the front between Brazil and Spain would return. After reconquering colonies in South Africa, Brazil would resume actions against Spain on May 14th, 2011.

After days of fighting the war was once again suspended when Brazil ejected Spain from South America for a second time. Meanwhile, the USA secured the Canary Islands, blocking any further direct conflict between Brazil and Spain.

Spain refocused its attention on the USA, as Brazil continued to assist through a US MMP. Ultimately the war was a cyclical stalemate.

Spain and ONE forces became preoccupied with the USA invasion known as the ONE World Tour, as Brazil braced itself for a possible second ONE invasion of its own.
