From eRepublik Official Wiki
| |
This page represents an official eRepublik Wiki help page. |
As events happen in eRepublik - citizens die, regions and countries are conquered and freed, companies change hands - the wiki evolves to accommodate these changes. This page seeks to answer how to handle this changing information in the wiki.

You want a page deleted?
Check out the eRepublik:Deletion policy
In summary:
- Add {{subst:Deletion|Username|Reason}} to the top of the main article page. Tailor your reason to each individual article; generic messages are not helpful. Do not change any content from the page while adding the template.
- Although not required, it is considered courteous to notify the article's creator and other significant contributors that you have proposed an article for deletion.
- Consider adding the article to your watchlist.
What to do when a Citizen dies?
- Edit the citizen page template.
- Remove the country rank as this information is no longer valid
- Add a death date (if known) or write "unknown" in the death field
- Add a picture if one hasn't been uploaded already
- Remove the party, if you want, make a note of the party in the text of the page
- Change the verb tense of the page
- Add/update additional information
- Save the page. The info in the death field will make sure that the page ends up in Category:Deceased
If the page is in more than one language, make sure at least the template is updated.
What to do if a Citizen comes back with a new name?
Sometimes a citizen will be banned and come back with a new name.
- The first citizen page should be handled as a death, see above.
- A new page should be created for the new name. Provide a reference to the first page.
What to do when a Region is conquered?
- Edit the region template
- Add the conquering country's flag in the flag field
- Add the original country's flag in the coat of arms field
- Change the country field to the conquering country.
- Change the first sentence of the text to say: "Region is a region of Country A, that was conquered by Country B."
- If the city of the region has a different name in the conquering country's language, feel free to add it as additional information, but do not change it in the template. City names were once meaningful to mayors.
- For neighboring regions, please remember to add the "former region of" designation if needed.
What to do when a Region returns to it's original country or is conquered again?
- Add a section on the page for History to record that the region was conquered, change the information to meet the current situation.
What to do when a Country is conquered?
- Edit the country template
- Add the conquering country's flag in the flag field
- Add the original country's flag in the coat of arms field
- Remove all other information from the template except for the name of the currency, capital, and map.
- Change the first sentence of the text to say that the country was conquered. Provide dates and details if possible.
- Edit other sections to make it clear that information is historical and before being conquered.
What to do when two countries "Merge"?
Mergers are handled in the same was as conquests. That is how they happen in the game, that is how they will be treated in the wiki. If the citizens decide to change the name of the newly merged country, we cannot accept that as the name of the country because the game does not recognize it. However, you can create a short page detailing the new name. See United Netherlands, Belgium, and Netherlands for an example.
What to do when a party changes its name?
- Go to the existing party page
- Add a dissolution date if known
- Add the party name in the succeeded field
- Add information in the introduction to make the information past tense and to say that the party has changed its name.
- Create a new party page under the new name
- Add the old party name in the preceded field
What to do if a company changes its name?
For now, move the company page.
- Click "Move" at the top of the screen
- Follow the dialogue to add the new name of the page
- Update the text to include the name change
