Hrvatska Partija was established in December 2008 by Couvert as one of the first 4 Croatian parties established at that time. In first elections for Croatian Congress, the party managed to win 3 places in it and become the third party by the Congress seats.

Most articles about this party were published in party presidents newspapers dalmatinski list. Also, organization Hrvatska Partija was the official organization of the party.

Less than one month later, the running committee, on a party meeting, decided that the party will be renamed to Hrvatska Stranka Radnika starting a new era for the only Far-Left party in Croatia at that time.
