Politics
He was an active member of Peace 'n' Prosperity Party, Federal Unity Party and Pattana Unity Party. He has served 13 terms as a member of Congress and one term as President of Thailand.
In March 2009, Jeff Hamilton was a candidate in the Presidential election of Thailand representing a small political party Laissez-Faire. He finished last. After election, he joined Pattana Unity Party and served as government minister, building up his political clout.
He ran again and this time he was elected President of Thailand in February 2010. That was his second attempt. His term was uneventful, and passed with few problems. After his term was completed, the Indonesian PTO attempts resumed.
After the fall of Thailand, Jeff moved to Austria where he lived a quiet life and lived out his retirement days in relative peace.
On Day 1,289 of the New World (1st June 2011), he wrote his last newspaper article announcing his departure from the New World.
