Kalimantan lies in the northern part of Indonesia. It’s connection to Malaysia makes it an important region in Indonesia’s many wars with Malaysia. Kalimantan is neighbored by following regions:
- Thailand, Sulawesi
- Indonesia, Lesser Sunda Islands
- Poland, Sabah
- Malaysia, Sarawak
- Malaysia, Peninsular Malaysia
- Philippines, Mindanao
- Thailand, Sumatra
- Indonesia, Java
With a population of 545 as of June 10, 2011 (Day 1298), Kalimantan is the third most populous region in Indonesia.
Historically Kalimantan is a region with a considerable amount of woods extracted from it's forests. Recently Indonesia has opted to harvest the rubber generated by the rubber trees, instead of cutting the trees down.
Currently Kalimantan doesn’t have any construction built over it. The (lack of) effectiveness of hospitals makes it a less priority to build hospital, and the government has instead opted to invest in more logistics (i.e. food).
