Public Career

United States Workers Party Political Involvement

Foreign Affairs Director

He joined the USWP in early August 2008. He became active and developed relationships with party leadership in a short time. On August 22nd, 2008, he was appointed the Foreign Affairs Director of USWP. With the appointment to the foreign office, he was also promoted to party leadership by Roby Petric.

Makowski had a large part in creating the Executive Board of the USWP and is a member of it. Also, he served briefly as USWP’s temporary Congressional Whip during this time.

Chief of Staff

On October 29th, 2008, with the resignation of ProggyPop from office, Makowski was appointed as the Chief of Staff of the USWP by party president Peregrine. During that time he edited and co-wrote the USWP Constitution, which was drafted by ProggyPop, to create a body of law that the USWP would be able to follow. He also made significant changes in the USWP forums, creating more departments and cutting some which were unnecessary.

Party president

Makowski was elected as the USWP Party President on November 5th, 2008. He managed to gain 140 votes, a 62.22% majority in an open election with four total candidates.

He began to finish what he started as the USWP Chief of Staff, and that is to pass the USWP Constitution. When it was passed, the Executive Board of the USWP was suffering from lack of activity which he dealt with by appointing a new board, while keeping the more experienced members on also. His goal was to create an Executive Board that would be able to administer their own departments, while supporting the entire party by doing so, thus creating a lasting base for the party.

Makowski concentrated on the organizational aspects of the party, as well as the political aspects. He tried to organize as much as possible within the party to keep it active and vibrant, while keeping the activities transparent to the party members and outsiders.

Under his time as party president, the USWP attained the status of the largest party in the world with over 850 members, while still having an open wellness program for all eRepublik players.

After serving as party president for over a month, Makowski decided not to seek reelection for the month of December. While still active in the party in other capacities, Makowski began to concentrate on private business ventures, as well as intergovernmental and international public-private projects.

Makowski was replaced by Rocco Baldelli as party president on December 16, after winning a seven way election with 56.51% and 204 votes, against the other major candidate GoBucks who attained 32.41% and 117 votes.

Emeritus Executive Board Member of the United States Workers Party

After his tenure as USWP Party President, Makowski retained his seat as an Executive Board Member of the USWP via a vote by the Executive Board to indoctrinate him as an Emeritus member. He has been serving in this capacity in the USWP since than (December 2008).

US Political Involvement

Mayor

Makowski became active in the national political field in September, when he became the Mayor of Madison on 21 September, 2008.

During his mandate, through constituent suggestions, the city was able to allocate funds to a purchase a Q1 hospital for the city with the cooperation with the USWP and than current US President Roby Petric. Makowski was able to secure 60% of the funding for the project[1].

Congress member

Makowski was elected a Congress member representing Wisconsin for the 10th session on 1 October 2008, after the mayor position was removed and V1 took effect. He was re-elected on 26 October 2008, for the 11th session and continued to serve the entire duration until 25 November, when he was defeated by denzins leading up to the 12th term.

Makowski regained the congressional seat on January 25th, 2009, from Wisconsin for the 14th term. He then was re-elected to the 17th Congress, serving a term from April 26th, 2009 to May 25th, 2009. Unfortunately, in the middle of his term in the 17th Congress, he was forced to resign due to RL issues. He did not return since then.

Secretary of State

Makowski was heavily involved in the election of Roby Petric as USA President in early October. He assisted and advised Petric in regards to his campaign and various political issues, focusing especially on foreign relations. When Petric was elected to office, he was appointed the Secretary of State and began to expand the Department of State, according to his and the policy of Petric.

When Petric resigned on the eve of V1, he was able to secure and publish Petric’s e-mails[2] disproving the theory that the President resigned because admins failed to create Croatia as many accused him of doing. It was also because of this theory and some misunderstanding between Makowski and other politicians in the Administration, including the acting President ThisGenMedia, that he was relieved of his position in the Administration as the Secretary of State.

Chief of Staff of USA

On December 16, 2008, Makowski was appointed as the Chief of Staff of USA by the current President Benn Dover. He served in that capacity until the next presidential elections on January 5, 2009.

Under Secretary of State

On January 8th, Makowski was appointed Undersecretary of State under the Secretary of State Benn Dover. He was serving the term until February 5, 2009.
