NB Pride was an organization which has as its goal the development and advancement of the New Brunswick region in Canada. It was originally chartered by Leftwing Torycus. After he departed the game, control passed to a council. The V2 changes caused almost all of the council to quit the game. Control is now exclusively in the hands of the last surviving member, Rigour6.

Before the economic changes which made ownership by companies inefficient, NB Pride operated a number of New Brunswick-based market companies, including Canadian Freedom Wood (formerly NB Forest Products), Kent Homes, and CDN Freedom Weapons. It also operated Titan Diamonds. Profits from these companies were diverted toward NB Pride's overarching project, the construction of a Q3 hospital in New Brunswick by the Volunteer to Build a Hospital company. NB Pride also owned Base Gagetown (later Zombie Base Gagetown), a Q1 Defense Systems company which was a self-described "folly" or "vanity project".

The movement was not without its detractors. A number of players have suggested that encouraging people to settle and live in specific areas represents a sub-optimum path for advancement for those players, and correspondingly for the nation as a whole. NB Pride's typical response has been that, by limiting settlement to a few "fortress" territories, national policy discourages activity by so-called "role" players who are interested in the eworld largely as a simulation, rather than as a strategic contest. NB Pride concedes that development of have-not regions may not be strategically optimal, but counters that its efforts are entirely citizen-supported (i.e without government subsidy or support) and reflect its members real-life pride and commitment to their home province.

NB Pride did not have an official newspaper. However, Spem Reduxit, a newspaper edited by Rigour6, often published articles touting its activities.

After the economic changes, the companies under NB Pride (which had expanded at that time to 8 in total) were transferred to Rigour6. At the end, NB Pride itself existed largely as a holding company for the "Free PimpDollaz Fund", an effort to encourage supporters of the player to donate money in order to pay the fines he owes for retaining possession of funds stolen from the government treasury by TemujinBC.

Volunteer to Build a Hospital

The company was chartered on Day 755. Its first employee was Beaverbrook and the person to drive the first nail in its construction was Jarakc.

The company was one of a number in the eworld which benefits from paid volunteers. Employees work for the company and receive the benefits of training, recognition, in-kind gifts, and other employee bonuses, but their salary is generally well below that offered elsewhere in the job market. As such, the effort to construct the hospital under the direction of VBH represents an altruistic effort of players who have placed verisimilitude and good works ahead of optimum personal advancement.

VBH used wood forested from New Brunswick and donated by Canadian Freedom Wood.

Although the original plans for construction called for almost three months for completion, a Q3 hospital was completed in 5 weeks, and went operational on Day 813.

The effect of a Q3 hospital was debated, but early longitudinal studies showed sharp rises in population numbers, levels, and health amongst the eNB population. As such, the project has been claimed to generally refute the "fortress theory" of national development.

VBH maintains an exterior website which documents the characters who constructed the Q3.

The stated goals of the NB Pride movement are to build and place a Q5 hospital in New Brunswick. However, since the placement of the Q3 hospital, the rules surrounding hospitals have changed, such that they no longer provide an economic benefit. NB Pride has subsequently discontinued work on the project, although Rigour6 has been seen occasionally driving in nails or raising scaffolding like a modern-day Noah.

The original Q3 hospital was taken over by government after the V2 changes. Accordingly, it was believed (but not confirmed) that the hospital itself was destroyed by Rolo Tahmassee as part of his rage-theft following his impeachment as Country President in the Project Mayhem Affair.

Canadian Freedom Wood

Canadian Freedom Wood, formerly NB Forest Products, is the war-time rebranding of a New Brunswick based forestry company.

Before the war, it was an initiative of NB Pride, the group dedicated to building a strong New Brunswick regardless of in-game logic.

As the Third World War progressed, New Brunswick remained one of the last unconquered territories, but jobs in the extraction sector became scarce. NBFP became Canadian Freedom Wood on Day 614. The company offered only minimum wage to its employees, extracting profits from the sale of wood to further the war effort against France. An indication of the dedication of its employees is that the company filled to maximum efficiency less than one day after announcing its changed format.

The company suspended operations while New Brunswick was occupied. On Day 628, following the liberation of NB, PEI, and Nfld in Resistance Wars against the PEACE collaborationist UK, Canadian Freedom Wood recommenced operations. At that time, it was the only Canadian forestry company in operation within Free Canada.

The company has continued its altruistic function by contributing wood to Volunteer to Build a Hospital, and Base Gagetown. It was the primary wood supplier to Kent Homes. It maintained some small cash flow by selling small amounts on the open market in Canada and Romania.

On Day 917, the company was upgraded to Q3.
