The Non-Aligned Nations of Erepublik (NaN) Unity Cup is a defunct sports tournament for NaN Nations. Scorinator was the program used to simulate the tournament, which alternates between basketball and football. The purpose was to foster the unity between the members of the alliance. The games are facilitated by Chairman Mhifzan and Vice Chairmen Al Raposas and Vincenzo Roque.
Formation
Between July to August of 2013, there was a decline in membership of NaN. It started with the exit of founding member Australia to join the ACT alliance, followed by the other founding member South Africa. During the next few weeks, Pakistan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia also left individually, eventually to create a new alliance named WOLF. To save NaN from eventually falling, Al Raposas, President of the Philippines for August, decided to create a competition that will foster unity between NaN members. With the help of the Philippine Basketball Association and approval of then Alliance Leader Mhifzan, they established the NaN Unity Cup.
Countries
Member countries of the Non-Aligned Nations of eRepublik are the eligible countries to join. Former members of the alliance are also eligible, but it depends on the decision of their coach or President. At times, the alliance will let countries that never had been or planning to be a part of NaN to join the tournament. It could also be a form of nation recruitment. The names of the countries may vary depending on their choice. It may be the native name of their country or a moniker given by the citizens. Citizens use their creativity in naming their country's team.
