History

The Democratic Party of Venezuela was founded in late December 2007, by citizen Rulefond, who was the first party president and set up their bases for the expansion of the party. From an early time, the party was at the top with the most members and Rulefond became the first country president who maintained government during 3 periods, before losing in April 2008 for the first time. In June 2008, PDV managed to regain power for one month, and then again in September 2008 when the party ruled for three periods in a row, took a really short break as not even half a month later replaced impeached Alquimides government in December 2008 and ruled for the next month and a half with Lesmir Ledezma in charge.

At this point, in January 2009, the first great division of the party occurred, as a significant number of members, including its founder, left the party to form the Democracia Proactiva, furthermore in February and March PDV supported the newly formed party for the presidency. The second great division was when Lucius Nava PJ formed the Primero Venezuela party. PDV regained power in April 2009 when the first wargames were negotiated and organized by Lesmir Ledezma. In June the party supports a government of unity headed by leireleire, a past country president who was previously a member of the PDV.

Thereafter, PDV proposes the second government of unity headed by one of their leading members and a former president mikesoft, and PDV begins the process of party restructuring, headed by Jesus Rafael Rosas Olavide. Mike's work extends to the next period also ruled by the party, however, the month of September was problematic because of the somewhat dictatorial government of Lucio Navas which ended up being overthrown by a coup. The PDV helped to shape the board that presided on this occasion, despite establishing a wicker symbolic president of our party, the restructuring of PDV continued internally in this period, achieving a new vision, new party structure and new regulation. On the ninth of October, the PDV relaunches with a new charter and starts the period of transition and adaptation, headed by the president KvZoN.

Since 2010, the party dropped out from the top 3, and was between the 5th and the 6th largest party in Venezuela. The demise continued and eventually, PDV disappeared from the political scene.
