The Royal Marines

Attached to the Royal Navy were the hard hitting Royal Marines. This sub-branch of the UK military was the bridge between the Royal Navy and the Special Forces, and had entry requirements of 10 strength and good activity - the Marines needed to be quick to respond.

They were first introduced during Admiral R.R. Napier's first term as Navy CO, but were subsequently removed, due to ill performance from a lack of candidates. However, in Admiral R.R. Napier's second term during January, they were recreated, and a much more effective system was produced, which made the Royal Marines much more necessary and relevant to the UK military.

History

Original Formation

Created by R.R. Napier on 8th October 2009, the Royal Marines were created to be an IRC active force whom active on the UK forums and have high levels of in-game activity. The Royal Marines are a rapid reaction force, ready to deploy and fight much quicker and faster than normal ships within the Royal Navy, although unlike the Special Forces there is no strength or rank requirement to join.

Expansion

On the 9th November 2009, the current Admiral of the Fleet Fezoj announced there would be a further two squads created. Soon after the announcement, the two new squads were added, squad 3 and squad 4.

Disbandment

On 22 December 2009 the then Admiral Fezoj disbanded the Royal Marines, due to a lack of new recruits. The officers currently serving were mostly made part of the newly established Indian Fleet.

Reformation

Recreated on the 27th January by R.R. Napier, the Royal Marines are again created to be an IRC active force, but have a strength requirement of 10 strength. They were designed to be a link between the Royal Navy and the Paratroopers.
