Today, the Parachute Regiment is a subordinate unit of the United Kingdom Special Forces.
The Old Paras
The Parachute Regiment, often reffered to as the Paratroopers or just Paras was the most senior branch of the United Kingdom Armed forces and were overseen by the Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom) and Chief of Defence Staff. Paratroopers were typically very active, had a strength level of 14 or greater, and had to be a UK citizen or allied citizen in good standing.
The total combined daily hitting power of the Paratoopers wass estimated to be between 80,000 and 100,000 damage, given the then-current equipment standards. This fundamental "quick and reactive" aspect of the organization wass a key feature of its design and it can be considered that what the Paras lacked in cost-per-damage they compensated for with sheer power. It had adopted the system outlined in the Military Decorations, Medals and Insignia of the United Kingdom page.
