Structure

The Russian Foreign Legion was a highly disciplined army unit, including training wars as their mandatory routine and regular "recounts".

History

The Foreign Legion had a long history but was disbanded long before 576. At this date, the Minister of Defense KyMarik named MoredanKantose as a new Commander and he started to collect people rebuilding the unit and making it one of the best operational units within the Russian army. They had its own language for the orders and routine for "real actions" with redundant information channels for more effectiveness. Every soldier had its service sheet.

Forum

In the Forum of the Legion citizens could sign in.

Motto

The engraved motto: Goodness, Honour and Glory was first used for The Cross of Saint Vladimir. It was an Imperial Russian Order established in 1782 by Empress Catherine II in memory of the deeds of Saint Vladimir, the Grand Prince and the Baptizer of the Kievan Rus.

Today this motto is transferred to the present-day star of the Order of Merit of the Russian Federation, which was established in 1992 by President Boris Yeltsin and is today the second highest ranking decoration of that country.

Anthem

Here no mother cries apart

for her son becoming a soldier,

but she takes herself a gun

to defend Russia's frontiers!

So the Legion marches again,

their courage never contended,

with the rifles in their hands

into the Battle of PENDENT!

Battle of PENDENT

Humorous Term used in the Russian Foreign Legion referring to the "eternal battle" of a life as a soldier.

During the days 580-610, for keeping military secrecy, the Commander of the Foreign Legion opened always a new thread for every real battle with the name "Battle of PENDENT".

When the action was over, the name of the thread was changed indicating the region where the battle took place: "Battle of Alaska" or "Battle of The Walloons".

About day 610, a new subforum was created where military secret information could be published, and the logistics and reportings were reformed, making the "battle thread" obsolete.

Organization

The Foreign Legion was divided into two major sectors:

  • Elite Company: 1st Elite "White Tigers" platoon (13+) ; 2nd Elite "Hornet" platoon (13+) ; 3rd Elite "Phoenix Mobile Squad" platoon (22+)
  • Regular Company: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th platoon + Training platoon

Organization before reform - The Foreign Legion was divided in the regular "Brigades" by one side, and the Cossack Corps by the other. It was composed by people with a minimum rank of Lieutenant and a Strength of 4.

The Regular Brigades were led by a "Corporal", under strong discipline and get the regular support from the Army.

The (ex)Cossack Corps, led by a unique "Sotnik", is divided in "Hosts" and "Brigades":

  • The Cossack Hosts have a minimum rank of Colonel and Strength of 9.
  • The Cossack Brigades have the regular restrictions.

Finally there where, the Volunteers, with almost no duties at all, get access to the orders so that they know where we fight, but no support at all. They have no restrictions regarding rank and strength.

Remarkable Actions (Days 582-639)

Day 582: Battle of the Walloon. The Commander fought bravely but led very bad. As a result of the "lessons learned", a whole new structure was created.

Day 587: Battle of Raska / East Serbia. The Legion made 3442 damage with 6 legionnaires and was congratulated by the Ministry.

Day 595: New Minister Notwiths stated that "Your regiment is already very well organized" and left it out of the general Army reorganization four years later.

Day 602: Battle of Alaska. A "miserable connection with the Ministry" (in the words of the Commander) was not enough to bring the Legion down: 5648 points of damage were made, mostly using their own private money to buy weapons. Russia and its allies were defeated.

Day 604: Battle of Alaska. A must better communication with the High Command through the new Deputy Ezh1gvtymane allowed the legion to mobilize better. 8,171 points of damage were officially recorded, with 30% of the soldiers attacking exactly in the last 30 minutes of the battle. Alaska was conquered, beginning the invasion of North America.

Day 613: Battle of Hamyong. The Legion was called 35 minutes before the end of the battle and had to wait for weapons until 8 minutes before the end. And still, it could inflict about 1000 points of damage.

Days 638/639: Battle of New Jersey. They all join forces, work shoulder to shoulder, and thanks to the excellent planning and coordination of their Commander and the brave and generous spirit of each of the members, all together build a fist which had the force to inflict a total battle damage of 18,000 points. Pushing down the wall and helping conquered one of the most valuable cities in USA. It was a remarkable day for the military history of the Legion.

End of an Era. Begin a new one

Day 644: MoredanKantose is named Defense Minister and KAshile is appointed the new Commander of the Foreign Legion.

Unfortunately, Kashile did not help to improve the Legion and after several absences one day in October 2009 he let due to time issues.

After many turbulent days, Chapaev have found the strength to start a major reform of the Unit. In a very short notice, he succeeded to build a strong foundation for the future fast growth of numbers in the Unit, both in soldier count and weekly inflicted damage (eRepublik week 769-775 - soldiers:75+ damage: *secret* per/week)

The last known commander of the unit was Ratibor Redoran.
