Talk:Second Anglo-Irish War
current?
Is the current fighting in Ireland a part of this war, or is it a third? Also looks like Canada NEed UK, so is this just a swap? -- Citizen 6 Talk 23:27, 14 May 2011 (PDT)
New war, different motivations, different leaders, somewhat different diplomatic situation. - Brian Boru

Talk:Ireland-United Kingdom War
Can this article please be merged with Third Anglo-Irish War? —Preceding unsigned comment added by The1akshay (talk • contribs)
- Yes, I agree to this. This seems like a better page than the other. -- Mikhail Alexander 02:43, 21 May 2011 (PDT)
Third Anglo-Irish War is not even up-to-date nor does it have nearly enough background info. -- Gambit
- I'm thinking the suggestion is to merge the two by carrying this article's info over to the other one. 3A-I also has a few more directs at this point, though that is a small thing. Looks like the other one was started first, but I suspect the naming is also a driving factor. There seems to be a desire to have more creative names when possible, though considering it is now the 3rd, I'm not sure that is an overly convincing argument. Ultimately though, we just don't need two articles about the same war. Is there a reason you prefer I-UK? -- Citizen 6 Talk 14:49, 21 May 2011 (PDT)
I don't mind changing the name to Third Anglo-Irish War, I just don't think the information is enough compared to Ireland-UK war one. Not to mention the Third Anglo-Irish War is practically all my stuff. All the person did that made it was copy/paste everything then completely deleted the background information on the war just because it made Ireland look bad. :P -- Gambit
Actually, I tried to do exactly what Citizen6 has suggested... that was my intent, but I tried to mix things in with the previous Anglo-Irish war articles, so it would be continuous. the1akshay
- Tbh, in the UK we see this as a continuation of the conflict rather than an entirely new affair. I'd say merge all these recent articles into the one that started during WWV up to now. • John F. Baker Talk Royal Navy 09:41, 22 May 2011 (PDT)
- So a new section in Second Anglo-Irish War? Side note: I can't nail down the First one. -- Citizen 6 Talk 23:01, 24 May 2011 (PDT)
- If there's no argument to merge the 3rd War article into the 2nd War one, I'll be doing this over the weekend (10th July~). • John F. Baker (Talk | Contribs) • 05:13, 7 July 2011 (PDT)

Good article
This also supports the view that the whole may period was 1 war, not 2. :) • John F. Baker (Talk | Contribs) • 09:57, 1 June 2011 (PDT)
Anyone?
Anyone tracking this still? I know Sweden just leap-frogged into Canada while all this was going down, but I don't know the specifics. -- Citizen 6 Talk 12:10, 11 June 2011 (PDT)
