Translating pages

Hi, I just found out you had tried to translate page World Map to Greek by editing the English article. Unfortunately this is not the way to do it and I had to undo your edits. However I created a Greek page for World Map, but in the future you'll know how to do this yourself.

To translate a page, you need to crate a new one, for example in this case you should have created page World Map/Ελληνικά. To make this new Greek page appear in the articles language bar you need to add LangMenu[[Category:Ελληνικά] to the code. For more information about translating pages please see Help:Translating_Pages. Thank you and have fun! --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|Talk to me 05:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Preview

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to eRepublik Official Wiki. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made, reduces edit conflicts, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The "show preview" button is right next to the "save page" button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, you can either write on the Bar or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Also, remember to use Preview option before submitting your edits. You've edited some pages really many times which is unnecessary. Keep this in mind and you'll do just fine. Thank you. :) --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|Talk to me 13:05, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

One more thing

I took a further look at your translated pages and found out some of them had the original's categories in them. Translated pages should only have their language categories, in this case Category:Ελληνικά, and those added by templates. Please remove all the other categories. And language category should only be next to the LangMenu

Also, it seems while doing translations you've first copied the whole English article to the translated page(for example Currency/Ελληνικά), submitted it and then started translating it. Please translate it before submitting, like that you'll be able to reduce the amount of edits you need to do(it seems you've translated articles one section at the time and then submitted it before continuing. Preview works just as fine).

I'm sorry if you feel I'm pointing out your mistakes because I want to be mean. Trust me, I'm not. Just trying to help. I believe that's about everything. Have fun! --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|Talk to me 13:18, 19 August 2009 (UTC)(again)

Translation

You are getting better! Please remember to remove the English category from translated pages. The only category should be the language category. And don't forget to use Show Preview! --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 14:43, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Try to remember these things, I just deleted Category:Playing the Game from your Greek translation of Main Menu. The page was created yesterday and it had already been edited nine times in less than 30 minutes. The translation wasn't even completed yet so please, pay attention while translating and use Preview. Keep it up! --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|Talk to me 12:35, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I just deleted extra categories from three pages that were created by you. Please pay more attention, one page also lacked and one had two of them. Otherwise you've done a great job translating pages to Greek, keep it up! Cheers! --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|sTalk to me! 16:05, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Business guide

Hi, the page Business guide/Ελληνικά was moved to User:Nikolaos_II/Business_Guide because it didn't meet the wiki standards. I believe it was originally published as a newspaper article and that kind of pages have their own policy. To find out how to add a newspaper article to wiki please see Belea2008's user page.

Also, only small parts were translated so there really wasn't a point in making a Greek page as it was mostly English. It was a wall of text and needed formatting. Please work more on that page before adding it to wiki. Also, please make an English page before translating it. You may find this page helpful Help:Editing

Please remember to remove all the extra categories like Playing the Game, Advisors, Politics etc from pages you translate! Translated pages should only have category of the language and those that are automatically added by templates! --Icon-Finland.png Kuhaa|sTalk to me! 20:15, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
