British period
Was a region in the eRepublik nation of Belgium until it merged into the United Kingdom during the Belgium-United Kingdom War.
Unification period
Together with the other regions of Belgium, Wallonia joined the merge with the Netherlands and the formation of the United Netherlands. As of Day 722, Wallonia has 368 citizens. Wallonia has a Q5 hospital.
Wallonia and language use
As a French-speaking region, Wallonia is different from the other regions of United Netherlands. When the population was very low (45 on day 515) and there weren't much francophones either, this didn't lead to tensions between the different parts of the nation. However, after a successful babyboom and to appease potential tensions, English is now the official language of UNL and French has a status as subsidiary official language. The region is the first UNL region with its own (unofficial) logo.
Citizen initiative
Since the unification there is a growing initiative from the Walloon population to make the region more attractive for other people (Anglophones, Francophones and Dutch). A donation fund was raised to rebuild hospitals and defence works. A Q5 hospital followed, defence works are missing as of yet.
Politics
For the list of the former mayors of the region, see the list of UK Mayors. Wallonia has no special political statute.
