Jonathan
Three term Mayor, from 20th January - 20th April 2008
Jonathan was Birmingham's first Mayor. He holds the record for most amount of consecutive terms as Birmingham Mayor, aswell as the highest amount of mandates in total for any Mayor in Birmingham's history.
His ability to help the citizens of Birmingham in a positive way, like a Mayor should, was tested by Skinny Bones Jones during the local elections held in April 2008. This was because Skinny Bones Jones released a manifesto stating that he would help the citizens of Birmingham with any issues they faced - including unemployment, lack of a hospital in the region, and also the unpopularity that Birmingham held in terms of it's number of citizens - whilst Jonathan chose not to campaign at all.
This election was to be the downfall of Jonathan, not only due to the fact that he did not make an effort in campaigning for his re-election, but also because he was not active in helping the citizens of Birmingham.
Jonathan passed away around May of 2008. It is believed that someday he will return, and that this will be a signal that the end of the new world is nigh.
Skinny Bones Jones
One term Mayor, from 20th April - 20th May 2008
Skinny had been a part of eRepublik for less than a month before he decided to take his first step on the political ladder, which happened to be the campaigning for the role as Mayor of Birmingham.
He feels strongly about Birmingham and it's part in erepublik, not only because it is where he was born and raised in RL, but also because he feels it is almost a neglected corner of the UK.
Skinny Bones Jones won the local elections in Birmingham on April 20th 2008 after a campaign of personal messages to all Birmingham citizens, aswell as a manifesto produced in an article highlighting his plans to turn Birmingham around. During his time as Mayor Birmingham gained it's first hospital, had it's housing and business taxes both lowered to 0GBP, as well as a gaining a positive increase in citizens (not including the multis later used by Tino Zacchini). Because of the enjoyment the role brought to him and the success he had achieved, Skinny decided to run for a second mandate. He lost the local election in May 2008 to Tino Zanicchi, someone who later admitted to using multi-accounts to win the election.
Tino Zanicchi
One term Mayor, from 20th May - 20th June 2008
Tino had released a manifesto prior to the local election in Birmingham stating that Birmingham needed change. He proposed that taxes were introduced so that the citizens could benefit from them, and also that Birmingham deserved a higher Quality hospital than it's Q1 hospital.
After Skinny Bones Jones became suspicious of the sudden influx of citizens in Birmingham just days prior to the election he decided to let other people know of his suspicions. This led to Bud Spencer informing Skinny of Tino's multi-accounting in Italy, that had won him a local election. This was enough evidence for Tino to be banned from the official e-UK forums.
After some talking with Skinny, Tino lowered the region's housing tax from a ridiculous sum of more than 99999999999GBP to a more reasonable 3GBP. He also informed the eRepublikan Admin of his multis and they were banned.
Tino left the UK sometime during June or July, having not helped Birmingham in any way.
Kain Larsen
One term Mayor, from 20th June - 20th July 2008
Kain Larsen did nothing as Mayor of Birmingham during his first and only mandate. As all candidates in the election made little or no effort to campaign, no-one can be sure if Kain Larsen even knew he was elected Mayor.
Tarimiun
One term Mayor, from 20th July - 20th August 2008
Tarimiun was one of Birmingham's better mayors but, due to ill health, was not as active a mayor as expected. Tarimiun ran a fairly successful pro-communist newspaper called The Workers Chronicle.
Population boom, July-September 2008
After activity in Birmingham slumping for the last few months, many citizens of the region looked forwards to a brighter Birmingham. Their calls were answered when Birmingham took a big boom of citizens during the latter end of Tarimiun's reign as Mayor, leading to the August Mayoral elections in Birmingham being the most competitive the region had ever seen.
Birmingham's citizen count has gradually increased over time, with a big boom of new citizens arriving in July.
It has generally been one of the least populated regions, but with the arrival of many citizens in July it now stood just short of being in the middle region in terms of population count.
Following on from the success of July, August proved equally productive for the region. This population increase in Birmingham lead to increased activity and the most competitive Mayoral race the region had ever seen on 20 August 2008 (Day 274).
