When translating pages to another language following rule was valid:

  • Add the language category so that the page will be categorized properly: type Category:Language, for example Category:Italiano.... . No other categories should be on the page (unless they have been added automatically by a template.

I have noticed that large number of recently added Translated Pages have lots of categories... Couple examples:

  1. Category:Ministers of Education of Romania
  2. Category:Ministers of Culture of Romania
  3. Category:Officers of Dracones
  4. Category:Captains of Dracones
  5. Category:Members of Dracones
  6. Category:Officers of Garda Nationala
  7. Category:Graduates of Garda Nationala
  8. Category:Presidents of The Matza Party
  9. Category:Vice Presidents of The Matza Party
  10. Category:Congress Members of The Matza Party
  11. Category:Members of The Matza Party
  12. Category:Mentors of Romania
  13. Category:Press Directors of Romania
  14. Category:Society Builders of Romania
  15. Category:People of Romania
  16. Category:Citizens

Overuse of categories on original/English language pages was frown upon, and was absolutely forbiden on translation pages. --Sre8renica 00:14, 23 January 2014 (PST)

I've been editing under that assumption.
Normally if i find a translated page with other category other than language or automatic, I'll remove it. Icon-Portugal.png Nunobaton - Talk «» My Work 01:14, 23 January 2014 (PST)
Feel free to take all of that stuff out when editing in the future.--Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 04:40, 23 January 2014 (PST)
From time to time I go for categories cleaning on translated pages too, since the only one that have to be manually added is the language one.
