Updating citizen pages "aka" getting rewards

Recently I've noticed there has been quite several wiki editors which have been editing the citizen pages or updating them to get the well known wiki rewards. However I've noticed some people do actually try to update the pages, whereas others just edit the levels. Since it's starting to be a trend and in few months we'll have people which will be fighting with hundreds if not thousands of citizen pages edits just to get the rewards, therefore I think now its time to actually do something to stop it happening. Not sure what exactly can be done, but maybe some sort of restrictions about editing the citizen pages and getting rewards for it... I'm pretty sure the wiki was suppose to be useful resource of information not a place where people ehm maybe spam with small edits in order to get their monthly reward. --"Icon-Switzerland.png Gucio" 15:32, 22 May 2012 (PDT)

I propose that only 10-30 edits a day be counted towards rewards so that it's more who's active on the wiki than who can spam 1 day and get the reward! --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 15:33, 22 May 2012 (PDT)

I am fairly new (around 2 months old now) and my initial thought of getting the reward was with a "fair and square fight". Up until the 21st of May my contributions were made in such manner. But, then I saw that scheme for the first time and started practicing it myself (guided by the fact I can't beat them) in order to "secure" my honest hard work. My suggestion to the matter is to change the formula by which the contributions are measured. Instead of valuing "unique" changes, the amount of information provided should be measured. However, to prevent overflowing the Wiki with BS, the contributions MUST be made EXCLUSIVELY based on facts not fictional information. -- Icon-Macedonia.png Destroyer S87 12:03, 23 May 2012 (CEST)
You realize I can simply exclude spammers from getting a reward? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 03:23, 26 May 2012 (PDT)
Well let this be there warning & next month we start exclusions for people who do more than 100 40 edits in a day and with out those edits could not have been in the awards :)! --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 04:19, 26 May 2012 (PDT)
Why don't start from this month? It's annoying. --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 03:38, 27 May 2012 (PDT)
Sooooo what is the conclusion on the matter? -- Icon-Macedonia.png Destroyer S87 09:10, 27 May 2012 (CEST)
This month is fine then ^_^. Do your thing Grz --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 03:47, 27 May 2012 (PDT)
Are you going to exclude me too? -- Icon-Macedonia.png Destroyer S87 13:04, 27 May 2012 (CEST)
Special:Contributions/Darko_Rora She's definitly being excluded.. As for you Destroyer, your Contributions are a bit different. I'd like to remove that mass edit spam you did on the citizen pages on May 22nd, then see if you qualify ^_^. --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 06:22, 27 May 2012 (PDT)
What happened with the transparency of your revision? No wonder you become a smaller crew every day... -- Icon-Macedonia.png Destroyer S87 22:22, 01 June 2012 (CEST)
i propose the following rules for being excluded from the rewards so that everybody can read them on the rewards-page. Please try to improve and discuss them. The following users would be excluded:
  • people who are contributing mostly citizen-page-updates,
  • people who are contributing mostly updates because of not using preview-option,
  • or updates without adding any use or content are excluded from getting rewards (you could call it: "spam" or "trash")

--Icon-Germany.pngWonne Talk 16:08, 03 July 2012 (GMT)
What is mostly? Who decides when to apply this rules? One person will be limited to certain amount of updates of citizen pages and/or other "spam"/"trash"? Your suggestions leave a BIG grey area, thus prolonging this painstaking problem. My solution is as simple as it gets. However, I do not know how hard it is to be implemented... And no matter what the community decides to do - rules apply once they have been accepted and everyone has been informed about them. If then someone breaks them you apply the punishment. Not the other way around. -- Icon-Macedonia.png Destroyer S87 21:51, 3 July 2012 (CEST)

Problem with Regions Template

Hi, I just want to raise awareness to the problem that is the outdatedness of Template:Regions/Owners which seems important for the Regions template and probably, other pages.--Icon-Philippines.pngVincenzo Roque 23:36, 29 May 2012 (PDT)

It used to be updated by Sampo's bot, but now Sampo left, nobody updates this. *looks at Code-Y ^^* --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 06:13, 30 May 2012 (PDT)
  • Looks at Grzechooo*. I'll ask Sampo if he'll share the source code of the bot or something ^_^.--Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 13:32, 30 May 2012 (PDT)
It shouldn't be that hard. --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 07:14, 31 May 2012 (PDT)
I heard you missed me :> Here's the code I used to update the region data (updates Regions/Owners, Regions/Regions and Template:Regions/Regions). I tried to make it easier to understand non-Finnish speaking people but it's still quite a mess :). It SHOULD work (at least it worked just a moment ago :D) but it might break without any warning. If you need the other scripts I can put them in one big file with this one and you can do everything with just one script... --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 07:35, 31 May 2012 (PDT)
It shouldn't be that hard. Rightt.... I got this.. --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 18:59, 31 May 2012 (PDT)
That didn't work at all (wiki parsed the html entities in the code and created some multiline comments causing everything to fail). Here's a pastebin version http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=SVA56Kx1 I'll compile the rest of the scripts and send it to you when I'm done. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 21:49, 31 May 2012 (PDT)
Works :D! --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 03:52, 1 June 2012 (PDT)

Here's the script which updates region data, mpps, embargoes, resource bonuses, taxes and latest events: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=MinGYnLQ. It's a bit slow but it'll do the trick! --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 06:55, 1 June 2012 (PDT)

Tyvm ^_^! we lub u Sampo! <3 --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 13:28, 1 June 2012 (PDT)
