The Österreichische Volkspartei (ÖV) was a party in Austria. It supported the free market and seeks a reduction in taxes.

History

The party was founded by Ice80 on July 11th, 2009. The first election for party leader was 3 days later on the 15th, and saw three candidates challenge each other for the leadership position of the party: Trebor Etekef, Ambrose Didymus, and Ice80. Though Ambrose was the only candidate to use advertisements, Trebor ultimately was successful, winning with 60%, over Ambrose's 33% and Ice80's 6%.

Trebor agreed with the previous leader that Austria should be a more independent nation, and that Austria would be better off staying out of World War III. The party grew significantly, reaching 16 members. However, Trebor proved to be an inactive leader, and resigned on July 23rd, 2009. LasTM became a caretaker president of Österreichische Volkspartei for the rest of the month.
