This Parliament was notable for its flurry of legislation, most notably "two welcome messages" and series of finances transfers to the Central Bank of NZ from the country accounts. All were supported by parties, with unanimity on nearly all issues a positive step for NZ. The cooperation between the UIS/L&P and PnPP was especially crucial in allowing NZ's politics to remain stable.

The 12th Parliament of New Zealand was in session from September 25, 2011, to October 26, 2011. The membership was set by the September 25 elections by voters in the four original regions of NZ. Five political parties secured representation.

This Parliament was historic as it marked the first time the Peace 'n' Prosperity Party (PnPP) emerged with a plurality of seats, by winning 13 seats. This was largely credited to the popularity of incumbent PnPP President mortalbeta and the parties successful election day team.

Coming in a close second was the Ujedinjenje ili smrt (UIS) which captured 12 seats, tying the party for its best result since the July parliamentary elections. Coming in a strong third, with 10 seats, was Love and Peace (L&P). This was a strong showing for the new party in its first campaign.

Stalling at fourth, was Ranginui who managed to retain its 4 seats. The party managed to increase its popular vote but lost out in many of the crucial individual races. The party did, however, retain its representation which it had held since February 2011.

Returning after a months hiatus was Red Squad, who finally returned to Congress after being out of the top-five in the previous month. The party only fielded 3 candidates and managed to elect 1.

This Parliament was notable for its flurry of legislation, most notably two welcome messages and series of finances transfers to the Central Bank of NZ from the country accounts. All were supported by parties, with unanimity on nearly all issues a positive step for NZ. The cooperation between the UIS/L&P and PnPP was especially crucial in allowing NZ's politics to remain stable.
