Ansen was a politician and businessman in the United States of America.
Early Life
Ansen was born on November 19th, 2008, in the state of Kansas. Ansen stayed quiet in his early life, working to advance in his chosen career in the construction industry. Ansen saw the election of Benn Dover to his second term in office, however, was not old enough to vote in the election. From the very beginning, he was extremely interested in politics and knew that was to be his primary focus.
Political Career
Choosing a Party
As soon as he was able to join a party, Ansen joined the Libertarian Party. He really had no clue as to what any of the parties stood for, so he had essentially chosen one at random. Within days, however, Ansen switched to the United Constitutionalists Party (later known as the United Independents Party), as he was impressed with their leader, Justinious McWalburgson III. Ansen had moved to Florida to fight in the United State's war with France, but moved back to his home state of Kansas since the war was winding down.
Congressional Career
Upon moving back to Kansas, Ansen noted that Roamin, the current congressman for the state, had been inactive for most of the month. He decided that, despite his young age, he could do a better job of representing Kansans. Ansen campaigned extremely hard, sending out PM's to all Kansas citizens and even putting together his own campaign website. He scored what many would consider an upset victory over experienced citizen John Rockefeller. Ansen finished with five votes, beating out Rockefeller (four votes), Aarons-Miller (two votes), Billy Shears (two votes), and kevmoc (one vote)
Ansen's first term was mostly spent with him learning the ropes as a Congressman. He supported the strengthening of the infrastructure of the United States of America through the purchase of Hospitals and Defense systems, and also supported the CTPA (Comprehensive Tax Policy Act).
On February 25th, Ansen was elected to Congress for his third consecutive term, beating out the Libertarian candidate Jarumas by a final tally of 10-2. During this third term, Ansen was one of the key congressmen involved in proposing that the United States of America preemptively attack Mexico. Since the proposal was debated privately in congressional forums, Ansen's involvement in the proposing of the war is not well known. The war proposal passed, but ended taking a turn for the worse for the USA. It became a key source of controversy for the country, and especially for the President, Uncle Sam.
On March 25th, Ansen was elected to Congress for the fourth time in a row with six votes in his favor, beating Conservative Party candidate Henry Baldwin (three votes) and United States Workers Party candidate Shadow Ninja. While Ansen remained active in terms of researching and voting on the issues, his primary focus began to shift towards helping run the United Independents Party.
United Independents Party Involvement
Ansen received his first official position in the United Independents Party in February 2009 as the External Affairs Director under Party President NoneSuch. Ansen was responsible for overseeing things such as recruitment and media relations. The party struggled to fill the available leadership positions, however, so party growth was stunted.
In March 2009, Ansen was asked by PrincessMedyPi to be the Vice-President of the party, and he accepted. Ansen continued to increase the amount of time he spent on the party, culminating in an announcement that he intended to run for the Party President position in April of '09. Ansen won the party presidency on April 15th, 2009.
Media Involvement
Ansen is the Press director for the newspaper, "Topeka Capital-Journal". He has used his paper to give updates on his congressional voting record, and also makes commentaries on issues affecting the US, such as taxes, relations with ATLANTIS countries, and the freedom of Israel and Greece. The paper currently has 89 subscribers. He has enjoyed two Top 5 articles in the American press.
Business Ventures
Ansen started out working in the construction industry, and has his highest skill in that discipline. Meanwhile, Ansen had saved up a small stockpile of gold, which he used to form his organization, Ansen Industries.
Ansen got lucky by happening to find an American Q2 Food company on sale for just 3 GOLD, which he immediately bought and renamed Ansen Food. The food company operated for several weeks before temporarily shutting down due to high food taxes and foreign companies undercutting prices. The company eventually sold its stock and managed to break even. Afterwards, Ansen made the decision to sell the company.
Ansen also purchased an Iron company during the war with Mexico, as iron was running in short supply. Ansen operated it during the war, making a decent profit, but decided to shut it down as the war ended.
Ansen finally managed to save enough funds to purchase a Q3 Oil Company, Ansen Oil. The company was the first of Ansen's companies to pull in a consistent profit, selling to both Romania and the United States.
AnsenImaging
In mid-February, Ansen opened up a new type of eRepublik business, called AnsenImaging. The business was run by his umbrella organization, Ansen Industries. The business is run out of the newspaper owned by Ansen Industries. AnsenImaging designed custom avatars, business and political party logos, campaign banners, and campaign websites for eRepublik citizens. The company designed and produced logos/avatars for the Department of Education, the US Welcoming Committee, the Nationalist Party, the "Is This The Real Life" podcast produced by Justinious McWalburgson III, among many others. The company has been highly profitable, netting Ansen hundreds of gold over the course of its lifetime.
