Canadian Financial Times went through three incarnations, being called The Peters' Press for the first two incarnations.
American Incarnation
Luke Peters originally founded the paper in 2009 as a means to report on the Democratic Party and for a time as his means of contacting the party when he became Party president. Shortly after he stepped down as Party president following his first mandate, he stopped writing the paper and moved to the United Kingdom.
Irish Incarnation
Luke re-founded the paper on June 1, 2010, in Ireland. In an opening note he announced his intention was to be "gathering information from the world as a whole as well as reporting on local events".[1]
The first few articles immediately gives the impression that the newspaper will be related to both political and statistical information with many of the first issues dominated by talk of the impending Presidential (Taoiseach) elections in Ireland with some use of statistics in some cases to back up and consolidate some of the claims as well as just providing information to the readers.
The first article looked at some of the wars and alliances that had taken place in the previous 24 hours as well as looking at some of the Taoiseach candidates of Ireland. The second issue looked at the facts and figures of the economy in the previous month while the third issue was an election special outlining each of the goals that the 5 candidates had set, should they be elected to Taoiseach of Ireland.
Luke ended the second incarnation of The Peters' Press on Day 928 of the New World. He left Ireland for Canada where he hopes to "better serve the public"[2]. That final article suggested that the paper may be resurrected again in the future in Canada.
Canadian Incarnation
The paper did make a short return as the Canadian Financial Times in the early stages of 2011, however, this only lasted for a couple of issues.
