Carol has long been part of the Brazilian Army. As part of Paraquestias Carol was 1x Lieutenant of the 1st and twice Lieutenant of the 3rd Battalion, and also member of the 10th and the 2nd Battalion. For some time participated in the Brazilian militia Supremacy. He was also the Captain of the Prodigios PDB, private militia of the Partido Democrata Brasileiro Party.

Very active in the politics, Carol was member of Partido Democrata Brasileiro and M. P. B. political parties. In July 2011 Carol become Minister of Education.
