What are ranks in eRepublik?

In national organized militaries, such as the British Army or the United States Armed Forces, citizens who are members are given a rank, which displays their level of importance, responsibility and skill in the national military. This rank is not related to the damage ranks that every citizen in eRepublik has.

For more information on the ingame eRepublik damage ranks, see here.

Useage in Organized Militaries

A Corporal has varying roles in organized militaries that bases their structure on a land army. 'Corporal' is shortened to 'Cpl' in the United Kingdom. In some militaries, soldiers with the rank of Corporal command a small group of soldiers, such as a squad. In other militaries, it is used as a reward for soldiers who show increased activeness and dedication; as proof of this, a soldier will be promoted to Corporal by ranking third in the leaderboard of his military unit, either Damage or Opponents Defeated count.

United Kingdom

In the British Army, the rank of Corporal is not used. However, the rank of Lance Corporal is used as a reward for increased activity.

In The Royal Guard, now non-functional, the rank of Corporal (Cpl) was awarded to Squad second-in-commands, with Sergeants commanding one.

United States

In the United States Armed Forces, a Corporal (CPL) wears two up-turned chevron. The rank of Corporal is used to show heightened activity and dependability, but is still a soldier rank.
