History

Being on China's eastern coast, Fujian has been traded back and forth during wartime:

• In May 2008, it was taken over by Pakistan as a result of the China-Pakistan War, but was taken back by China in mid-December.
• As a result of previous wars, Fujian has spent a significant amount of time under Indonesian occupation.
