Personal Information

Hassan Pesaran joined the New World with a group of friends from the gaming clan "Tactical Warfare", who then went on to form the party "We are the Borg" for something to do within Erepublik. Hassan, however, begun a career in journalism by forming the Oxford Times, which has become the 6th most subscribed newspaper in the UK to date. When Hassan won the Party elections, he renamed it The Unity Post, with 68 current subscribers.

Political History

Rather than joining permanently with his friends at "We Are the Borg", Hassan decided to join the much maligned Party Leader Alain Bates in the Unity Party, to help improve upon their viability and policy stature. Along with another newcomer, Squiddy, they have greatly improved upon the Unity Party's standing in the UK, as well as their member base.

Hassan Wins Party Elections

After a month serving as Party President, Alain Bates decided not to run for another term. Hassan stepped up and announced his candidacy, and was overwhelmingly accepted as the new Party Leader.

Hassan has begun to implement things he had promised in his manifesto, with The Unity Party (TUP) Council and has created a strong sense of community within the TUP members. Along with the runner up of the last Party Elections, malta_1990, TUP did surprisingly well in the local elections, winning 5 Mayoral seats.

Positions Held

  • Minister of Information (Sept 7 - Present)
  • Congressman (Sept 2 - Present)
  • Party President, The Unity Party (Sept 11 - Present)

Return to politics

In the new year Hassan served as Minister of Finance and then Minister of Defence, to which he was better suited. For long months he served in this role, and the role of Minister of Defence and Foreign Affairs under a number of Presidents. He developed a close relationship with Kumnaa and the two of them worked together closely throughout the former's term as President.

Hassan returned from his tenure as a member of the Liberal Social Democrats party, which had failed. Back in The Unity Party he requested and gained the party's blessing to run as President. With some difficulty he convinced PCP members to back him, and along with the ailing Movement for Democratic Unity the Yellow Submarine Coalition was reformed.

Hassan ran for election against Dishmcds, a 2 time President, firebrand and undoubted King of the UK Reform Party. Although many questioned his chances, with the backing of the PCP and the TUP he won with a comfortable margin.

Military History

Hassan has had a long and illustrious career, starting as a reserve, working his way up to the Paratrooper special forces unit, to Minister of Defence and finally Supreme Commander of ATLANTIS. He is now in the Royal Guard

British Academy Awards

Hassan Pesaran was awarded British Academy Awards for Journalism in October 2008.
