Ian E Coleman won the Irelander of the Month award for May 2011. [34] In April of 2011 Ian was given an award for Community Supporter of the Month, by then Country President Marcus Suridius, for his work on Ireland's wiki. [35] In the "Amazing Review" edition of Irasian's community opinion articles Ian received a score of good overall with 14 votes toward him being a good citizen. [36] In April of 2013 Ian won the awards for both "Best political involvement" and "eIrelander of the month" in Damhnaic's Citizen Awards. [37]

Media

Ian E Coleman is the owner and author of An Eye of eIreland. [38] Ian's first article was published on September 29, 2010. [39] Ian has also had the position of Wiki Officer/Minister on a few occasions, which entails record keeping and writing. In this position, he has increased the visibility of Ireland, and documented many historical events, facts, and figures.

Political History

Early Political Life

September 2010, Ian E Coleman joined the political party Eire Aontaithe. Shortly following Connell Rath's October inauguration in 2010, Ian E Coleman was offered the position of Co-Minister of Information for Ireland. He was to serve in the Ministry of Information with Minister Biffo3000, who was able to help make up for his inexperience. Behind the scenes this ministry helped to shape the Irish wiki pages, and developed databases and surveys. On the whole the October 2010 government was a success, accomplishing all of the official goals but falling short of meeting EDEN's requirements for membership once again.

Post December 2010 Wipe

On December 7, 2010, the UK completely wiped Ireland off of the map, leading to every company, organization, and party being moved from Ireland to the UK. In effect Ireland was forced to rebuild with no parties, organizations, or companies. Ian E Coleman was no longer a member of Eire Aontaithe and so became an independent. In February of 2011 Ian E Coleman was given the position of Minister of Wiki by newly elected Country President Seanan. [40] This was an entirely new position that had been created to bring new focus to the task of keeping Ireland's wiki pages up to date and informative. This position has lead him to closely observe information related to Ireland and the mechanics of eRepublik. He was given this position again in March under the Presidency of 05637716/Ariovistus. Foundation of Eire Aonair

On March 17, 2011 (St.Patricks Day), Ian founded Eire Aonair [42]. As the founder, Ian became the first Party President of Eire Aonair.

First Mandate as Country President

Ian E Coleman released three campaign articles leading up to his election to Country President of Ireland on September 6th. [43][44][45]

His first term continued the progress accomplished by Sweet Drinker in three consecutive terms previous. His job was to continue to ensure the security of Ireland, and he made it clear from the beginning that he did not plan to attack the UK during his term, despite the fact that they occupied Cork, Shannon, and Mayo, Ireland's original territories. He believed that Ireland was outmatched militarily, especially while the UK was influential in TWO, a largely unchallenged alliance which had firm control over the world. Instead he focussed on preparing Ireland defensively and developing the alliances and tools which the nation would need to one day retake its regions.

His other goals for the month were to keep good communication with the people, to reform education, and to improve government organization. During the month he would write four "Taoiseach Reports". [46][47][48][49] As one of Ian's reforms to government organization, he instated strict requirements on immigration and re-introduced an altered version of a three officer immigration office. [50] This decision was met with some resistance, but he would re-enforce his belief in the measures, and carry out his promise of objective transparency in his last report of the month. [51]

Stilpo's Performance Survey for September showed that the population of Ireland had generally looked upon Ian's term favourably up to the end of September. [52] Mean ratings of domains such as leadership, communication, activity, and integrity, were all in the range of 3.5 and 4.5, which was comparable with former Country President Sweet Drinkers first of three terms, and an improvement over his last two, though likely only as a reflection of the publics arbitrary discontent with his long reign.
