Ireland (pronounced [ˈaɪɾlənd]; Irish: Éire [ˈeːɾʲə]; Ulster Scots: Airlann) is an island country located in the northwest of Europe. Ireland's geographic location has often been exploited to create a strong defensive position. Bordering only Icon-UK.png UK, Icon-Canada.png Canada, and Icon-USA.png USA, Ireland's six regions are strategically insulated. This has allowed the country to maintained a strong community with diverse views and politics. Ireland has healthy elections and is active economically, militarily, and in the media.

The vast majority of Irish media is written in english. Because of the small population of the country, it is more difficult to get a Media Mogul achievement as authors will need to find subscribers from outside of Ireland to reach one thousand. Ireland's media is very active for a country of its size, usually providing enough well written news and articles to stimulate the average reader.

Community

Ireland is not only home to the native Irish, but also to residents from a wide variety of distinct origins. Ireland welcomes individuals from all backgrounds,but the majority of its citizen are nonetheless Irish in real life. Prominent expatriate groups include Americans, Bulgarians, Canadians, Greeks and Croatians. While Ireland seeks to reflect, preserve, and take pride in its traditional culture and history, it welcomes the existence of a cultural mosaic among its many diverse and talented citizens.
