Matthieu Bonne was a citizen and politician from France. He was best known for his role in diplomacy for France and PEACE. Matthieu was one of three winners of the Be My eRepublik Valentine contest.
Politics
Three days after joining the New World, he was named Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France, trained and coached by niouton and num. When niouton became President of France the next month (September 2008), he was chosen as Minister of Foreign Affairs and played an active role in the formation of PEACE; he founded PEACE's forum and succeeded to Nicolae Carpathia as PEACE's Secretary General in November of the same year.
He lost the presidency election in October, having the same number of votes as Ph03n1x. During this month he contributed, with fellow members of his party, to the creation of France's recruitment portal and French wiki.
He won the presidency election of November with more than 50% votes and announced his government two days later, having mafleur24, ulysse, jul76 and niouton as core ministers.
In December, as the president Elvea wasn't really prepared to a full-scale war, Matthieu (officially MoFA again) was in charge of the defense of France during the second world war, also called "Operation French Toast". He was especially alone to manage the country during the end-year holidays, only helped by the future Commander of the French Légion Etrangère, Kirill Nowakovski.
During these three weeks of intense fighting, hours-long strategic meetings and massive logistics planning, he tightened his links with several citizens and leaders all over the New World. Among them, many italians (bisiacco, Mapplna, vegaicm, rhevard, Laguna...), indonesians (n3m0, rikwandi, NicoSianipar), and PEACE active members (Bimba, zocky, Arthk, GLaDOS, Trichoplax).
In January, under his friend ulysse's presidency, he served again as MoFA, and resigned from PEACE SG's job. He definitely wanted a break! In February, with Papa Frantz as head of the government, he offered his help as Minister of Economy to manage a much-needed tax reform, and set up a protectionist system to partly preserve the wood sector in France from massive Swedish and Spanish investments.
In march, droopy32 was president, and Matthieu served as Ministry of Defense, with many important cases to handle: the creation of a training platoon for young French soldiers, the signing of several contracts between private companies and the state to ensure a better supplying for the Legion, a better planning of the Legion's daily costs to improve its efficiency...
In April, on his request, he was named at the head of a special Ministry, dedicated to demography. France was indeed in desperate need of new citizens, and he worked hard to generate a babyboom. He revamped ebabyboom.fr, niouton's affiliation portal created back in summer 2008, contacted dozens of websites, blogs, newspapers, and finally reached his goal on April 24th when www.jeuxvideo.com issued a news on its homepage that brought more than 1000 new citizens in 48 hours. One month after this first baby boom, France had gone from 1180 to 3500 citizens.
During this time, and since her arrival in eRepublik, he had become closer and closer to Lyne Faynel. Taking her as his assistant wherever he had to work, creating companies with her, building projects together, he also helped her unofficially when she was Minister of Defense. They shared experience, goodwill, motivation, creativity, each one covering each others weaknesses, and very soon their bond went further than ingame cooperation. Both of them had found a soul mate. They married on april 23rd, just before the baby boom, and founded a family, the first one in France. They had 40 children together; many of them became famous and influential french citizens.
In may, he ran for presidency against meza and gg_tk. A Spanish PTO attempt made droopy32 decide to push him as unique official candidate, which granted him victory but screwed his authority and hopes. He invited meza and gg_tk to co-lead the country and merge their programs but that was nearly impossible. The post-babyboom management went fine but he still considers this mandate as a failure, for he spent a lot of energy for very average results. The absence of his love, Lyne Faynel, due to RL issues, probably played a role in that feeling.
He tried to withdraw from French politics in June, only keeping a job as CEMLE (chief of Légion), but the military campaign against Sweden (that he had prepared at the end of his mandate) pushed him to help the government in background. The French community was beginning to bleed from personal hatreds and excessive political fights; trolls were each month more noisy, and dedicated, loyal citizens spoke less and less. He decided to left the country as soon as Mavie75 was elected, on July 6th, and fully dedicated himself to PEACE, becoming Secretary-General once more. He couldn't help but helping meza's government in mid-august during both Asturias' RW when the whole state was crumbling and in dire need of people to organize the army orders and logistics.
When his honey decided to run for presidency in September, he backed her with all his effort and, during both her mandates in October and November 2009, he cloned and enslaved himself to help her. A detailed article of the work done during these two months would be great. At the end, on December 6th, Lyne left her position, taking with her 2000 Golds and nearly 1000G of currencies, detailing her motivations, or at least the ones she could tell publicly, in an article. She had decided to concentrate on her all the hatred and frustration of the French community, becoming public enemy #1, and he was glad and proud to share this burden with her. They vowed to use this money to help France and not share it with their own goods, and they kept this promise, silently of course since there was no reason to break the myth of the ugly robbers and traitors in which generations of French citizens were born.
Since then, they both roam the eWorld, fighting for causes they support (including France's liberation), grabbing some battle-hero together, making profit here and there, and most of all, making love on all the beaches, in all the caves, under all the oceans Dio made. They are free, they are in love, and they intend to stay like that until the end of times.
In April 2017 it was discovered that Matthieu is the party president of Parti avec la caisse.
Economy
Matthieu Bonne was one of the six founding members of I Feel Wood, a leading wood company in France created in October 2008 that grew very fast. Several more companies were built within this group (later called "SuperSO6"): I Share Wood, IFW's top-quality sister-company; On the Wood Again, IFW's Q3 clone; Gueule de Bois, also Q4 wood, but owned at 50% by four former employees of I Feel Wood (3 of them died of left, only leaving Lyne Faynel). The group also owns SO6 fraiches (Q4 food) and Chair a SO6 (Q3 weapons in Finland). There was also a housing company, Shack Your Body (Q3), that was finally sold to Theocrats when they took the power in Switzerland. Later they also bought Moulins (Q3 grain in Hungary), Katana Kelamour (Q5 weapons in Hungary), and... oh Dio there's too many of them.
Aside from the SuperSO6 stuff, he owns a lot of companies, or should we say "they own", since all his good are shared with his eWife, Lyne Faynel. They control over 70 organizations, 34 companies, and their personal wealth was estimated at 9700G in march 2010. They are also associated with several other players, usually young French citizens who had more talent and goodwill than money to buy a company. They help them to learn the job of General Manager, and sell their shares if they like, so they can be independent.
Military
Matthieu Bonne started fighting in December, when France got invaded by ATLANTIS. He joined the Légion Etrangère at this time, and since then kept doing his daily fights for the good of France and PEACE. He ranked slowly, without wellness packs, burning 30 GOLD from his own pockets in the defense of Western Siberia against hordes of Romanian tanks in March 2008. Then, once reaching the rank of 
V1 Field Marshal, he was often involved in PEACE GC commando operations.
