A mayor was an elected politician of a municipality in the Beta version of eRepublik. The mayor was the chief executive of a city within a region and thus was considered a vital part of local government and regional politics.

This feature was removed because "it should be much more entertaining." Also, the eRepublik staff declared that they are considering introducing mayoral positions again in the future.^[1]

On Day 3,468 (May 19, 2017), eRepublik announced that Mayor role is coming back to eRepublik after Residence and Cities were announced^[2].
