The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is the government department responsible for implementation of government defence policy and is the headquarters of the British Armed Forces.

History

The Ministry of Defence is one of the most important cabinet posts within the UK. The Ministry of Defence has gone by several names, such as Ministry of War, and has been combined with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under two different administrations.

Duties

  • The minister of Defence is in charge of the strategic direction of the UK.
  • The minister will need to communicate with the officers to give detailed reports to congress on the readiness of all units of the military.
  • The minister will set the orders for the day with accordance to TWO guidance and in conjunction with the Prime Minister
  • The minister must attend all talks on military intelligence and be available for talks on future MPP’s.
  • The minister must have an active knowledge of the UK military and our current relations with other countries.
  • The minister will regularly update and maintain the newspaper MoD News.

Defence Staff

The Commanders of those Units in the National Federalised Military act as advisor's to the Minister(s) of Defence collectively forming the General Staff of the United Kingdom Federalised Units (UK-FU) along with the under-Ministers of Defence and Country President.

Military Decorations, Medals and Insignia are awarded by the Military Honours and Decorations Board in recognition of commendable service or personal accomplishment of any soldier in active service of the United Kingdom's Military.
