Nord-Norge (English: Northern- or North-Norway) is an original region of Norway, located in the northern part of the country. Nord-Norge is the largest original Norwegian region in terms of area, and the capital city was Tromso.

In June 2008, Mayor Gjok purchased a brand new Q4 Hospital from Universal Healthcare, a state-run hospital company. The purchase led to a baby boom in Tromso, the population reaching an all-time-high in December 2008 with 267 citizens.
