The first journalistic partnership was created by Francis Hunyadi on May 11, 2008. There are two kind of partnerships in eJournalism.

Partnership variants

  • One: Two or more newspaper owners agree to share information between each other, and it is officially announced in an article. The partners do not need to work closely together, signing such an agreement is more a sign of respect towards each other than a strong relationship between the newspapers. This partnership is often called a Lesser Partnership.
  • Two: Two or more newspaper owners agree to share information between each other, and it is officially announced in an article. It has to be signed by the owners as an official agreement. One of the newspapers become a variant of the other, this is more likely to happen if the other newspaper is from a different nation. Changes for the partner newspaper includes logo and name change. The newspaper owners will work closely together and share every information and possibly article, from which the partners will pick from to publish in their newspaper. This kind of partnership is also known as Greater Partnership.
