Yugi started his political career on March 10, founding the first Brazilian Democratic Party - Partido Democrata Brasileiro, which won much attention from experienced politicians at the time. With his articles and other began to draw attention by the ideas Democrats such as low taxes and better conditions for workers.
- On March 16, Yugi received a proposal to run for the Mayor of Manaus as a candidate from Brazilian Socialist Party. On March 18, Yugi announced he is leaving Partido Democrata Brasileiro, leaving Tyrant, his right arm and co-founder of the party, in its place.
- On March 20, Yugi is elected mayor of Manaus.
Yugi starts to deploy in the city of Manaus Tax Plan Zero, where nobody pays tax, something that no single government was doing at the time.

- On May 10 Yugi become President of the Czech Social Democratic Party
