Rangeley was an 8 term President of Austria, and long serving Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Education, and Party President of the Osterreich Independence Party. Active in the media, and in politics, he served in the Austrian Congress before being first elected President on October 5th, 2009. His first tenure in office (3 terms) marked a transition in several ways, notably towards a "Germanization" of government postings and outreach, a new emphasis on diplomacy and internationalism, and political openness including diverse cabinets.

After serving in ministerial capacities - such as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Education - he returned to the Presidency on May 6th, 2010. His second tenure was dominated by efforts against the Croatian takeover of Austria, including increased cooperation with neighbors. Serving again as Minister of Foreign Affairs afterwards, he worked towards a peaceful settlement over disputes with Italy in summer 2010, and Slovakia in early 2011. Elected as President for his third tenure in June 2011, peace was secured with Slovakia and built upon into a friendship with closer cooperation in July.

After serving as an advisor for a time, he would return as Minister of Foreign Affairs as a part of an anti-PTO coalition government in February 2012. Serving a fourth tenure as President in June 2012, attempts to reconcile differences between groups began, as well as the "Reorganisationsplan" to update the Osterreichs Bundesheer. Returning for a fifth tenure in May 2013 in the midst of a Latvian invasion, peace was secured with Latvia, and Austria held all regions by months end. In the months since, he has largely served in advisor roles and currently as Austrian Minister of Education.
