Around April 20, 2009, [[AidenAstrup]], the director of Meals on Wheels (MoW), began looking for an assistant due to busyness in real life.  Ekim was selected to be the assistant and began working on April 23.  At the time, the MoW spreadsheet was over 600 people behind schedule or approximately 2 weeks behind schedule.  In one week, Ekim donated to over 1200 people, and successfully put MoW back on schedule.
