At the beginning of each term, there is an internal, albeit public, nomination and election process to decide who will become Speaker of Congress. The runner-up of the election, and in the case of a tie, the citizen with the most in-game experience points, becomes the Deputy Speaker of Congress. In addition to the Speaker and his or her deputy, a congressional moderator is also elected in a similar fashion. Congressional discussions are held both in public and private areas of the Congress section of the national forum and citizens are often encouraged to contribute to discussions.

The current Speaker is Al Kazar, Deputy Speaker is Mikhail Alexander and the Moderator of the Congress is Léon Reno.

Fight-war.gif Wars

South Africa is not at war with any countries; however she has a history of conflict with her neighbours, Icon-Argentina.png Argentina, Icon-Brazil.png Brazil & Icon-Indonesia.png Indonesia.

Icon-Brazil.png Brazil & Icon-South Africa.png South Africa has been working hard to build on their relationship and has seen a strong friendship form between these two Nations to such an extend that Icon-South Africa.png South Africa now sees Icon-Brazil.png Brazil as one of her most Trusted Allies and would protect her as if Icon-Brazil.png Brazil was it's own.

Natural Enemy

There is no natural enemy as of eRepublik Day 1,662.

Alliances and MPPs

South Africa is not a member of any alliance; however has in the past had favourable relations with both EDEN and Brolliance. Since the creation of PANAM and the alliance between the United States of America, a longtime ally of South Africa, and Brazil, an equally longtime enemy, this relationship soured somewhat and South Africa needed to find other, new allies, such as NWO members Poland and Spain. However, as South Africa and Brazil are currently at peace with the potential of a further improvement in our relations, we are currently reevaluating our allies.

The country is a former member of Sol but was unofficially withdrawn by President Ronell during a political takeover by Harvad University.

South Africa currently has mutual protection pacts the following nation(s):

This country doesn't have any mutual protection pacts at the moment.

South African Armed Forces

The South African Armed Forces is the national military of South Africa and currently consists of two branches, a home guard unit known as the Pretorian Guard and a mobile unit called the Parabats. The military is lead by Chief of Staff General Grimstone.

Military Units

The following military units (MU) exist independently of the South African Armed Forces.
