History
When Finland was under the Norway's control there were only two active political parties in the Finnish area: Liberaali Edistyspuolue (The Liberal Advance Party) and Sininen Puolue (The Blue Party). Both of these parties represented the right-wing ideology, so there was no room for the left-wing socialist or communist agenda within their party program.
The actual idea of establishing a socialist/communist party in Finland was invented long time ago, but during the Norway's control of Finland it couldn't be done, however during the Finnish Independence War the party formed with the name Suomen Sosialistinen Puolue (The Finnish Socialist Party). It had 44 members and 2 seats in congress prior to its transformation to this new party.
