Tecchi was a member of the Australian Democratic Socialist Party. In January 2010 he became Party president of a small political party, which was named Order of Knights Techlar.

Techhi was elected into Congress on 2 occasions.

Tecchi was a member of Cabinet on three separate occasions. In December 2008, January 2009 and February 2009 he was the Minister of Defence before being replaced by Patti11 in March.
