Mission Statement

I envision a solid group of people that want to enjoy eRep and help the eUS. My best times in parties has been when there is a solid community. High IRC usage, active forum, good recruiting efforts to bring in fresh talent.

The USMJ will give vets a place to call home, a party without the political bull crap that so many transfer here from RL. For newbs we will provide resources, education, and opportunities for them to succeed. We are creating a place where it is fun to chill while learn. We will run people for Congress and help our members succeed. Everyone deserves a choice; everyone is important; everyone should be respected.

PARTY PROGRAMS

Operation: Munchies

The party believed in the advancement of the individual and ran a food donation scheme for new players.

This was a "no strings attached" program whereby any American citizen, under level 30, was be given 100 wellness simply by posting a link to their profile .

THC: The Higher Calling

Main article: The Higher Calling
THC Avatar

THC: The Higher Calling was a fully-functional fighting group. Under the direction of the US Marijuana Party, it served as a partially-communing party militia as well as an outreach/mentor program. Both seasoned veterans and newly-born eAmericans could join. Food and weapons were available to members that work in the military unit's companies.

It was under the command of Jude Connors.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

US Marijuana Party ~ The Party of People
These Standard Operating Procedures set out a structure that will seek to ensure that in the future, the party is not dragged into the personal grievances or contests that pollute the political landscape.

Section 1 ~ Mission Statement

We envision a solid group of people that want to enjoy eRep and help the eUSA. We strive for a solid community with high IRC usage, an active forum, and good recruiting efforts to bring in fresh talent. The USMJ will give vets a place to call home, a party without the political bull crap that so many transfer here from RL. For younger members, we will provide resources, education, and opportunities for them to succeed. We are creating a place where it is fun to chill while learn. We will run people for Congress and help our members succeed. Everyone deserves a choice; everyone is important; everyone should be respected.

Section 2 ~ Party Membership

All members will be judged as equal, regardless of their stature, history or ambitions. IRC and forum activity will not be used to discriminate between members.

Active membership will be determined as the number of respondents to the latest in-game party census stating that they wish to be counted as active members. These censuses will be conducted a minimum of once per month(on the 1st of the month). The total number of respondents by the end of a 72 hour period following the issue of the census will form the number to be used in the calculation of all voting figures.

Section 3 ~ Party Policies

3.1 The Party is Democratic - in all important party matters the voice of the active party members is paramount - all important matters will be debated in the party forums, and if necessary voted on, as the will of the party is greater than any one person.

3.2 The Party operates under an Equal Opportunities policy - everyone has the right to stand for whatever they wish to stand for as long as they realize that the democratic wishes of the party come first - this includes the PP and any Congress members. Some party jobs will require previous experience, but all volunteers with that experience will be given the chance to stand and there will always be trainee positions available alongside them so that people can learn.

3.3 The Party will be Helpful - we will collate all useful information and links we can find from the forums and wikis and anywhere else that will help all new members get a really good start in the eWorld.

3.4 The Party operates a strict "No bribery" policy - we will not bribe members with promises of jobs or cut price goods or gold or cash just to get them to do things - we will be an open democracy above such things - members are best helped through good advice (see 3.3).

3.5 The Party has a policy of Honesty and Integrity - There will be no multies, BS, lying, untruths, half-truths, white lies and/or distortions of facts. No one should be afraid of the truth. Without honesty there is no trust.

3.6 The Party believes in Freedom of Expression - everyone is entitled to their own views and should be free to express them provided that such expression is not dishonest, libellous, slanderous or offensive.

3.7 The Party does not interfere in the private eLife of its members and all members are free to conduct their own businesses, be in the Armed Forces or military unit of their choosing, be members of any eReligion or eOrganization and work in any job, provided that they are fair in all their dealings and do not taint the Party's name.

3.8 The Party will encourage people to have Fun - the party is nothing without its members, and the members should be able to enjoy their membership of the party and the Party will encourage people to interact through the use of IRC and the forums.

3.9 The Party believes in Justice - everyone is innocent until proven guilty and everyone is entitled to a fair trial held by an impartial adjudicator.

3.10 The Party believes that the good of the nation comes above the good of the Party.

Section 4 ~ The party structure

Each month the party will elect a party president in line with the game mechanics. There will be no “preferred” candidates, and those seeking (re)election will have to gain the support of the party on their own merits. Upon election, A party president will be expected to appoint a leadership council known as The Circle that will function as his Cabinet. He will also appoint a Vice Party President who will cover the role in any instances of inactivity, or take over should an impeachment occur.

Section 5 ~ Impeachment proceedings

Any member can propose an impeachment of the party president. For proceedings to begin, 10% of the active members of the party must sponsor the motion. A motion will pass if 50% of the active members of the party votes, and 66% of those votes are in favor of impeachment.

Section 6 ~ Elections

Party presidents will be responsible for opening applications for congressional elections to both party members, and any members of non-top 5 parties. Applications will be opened by the 16th, and close on the 21st. The final lists should be published and effectively communicated to the party by the 23rd of each month.

Presidential elections will begin with the party allowing its own members to put themselves forward on the 26th of each month. Should no party members come forward, the party president is responsible for compiling a list of the other parties candidates by the 28th. A discussion period and vote will take place from the time the list is published and communicated to all members until 23:39 on the first. For a candidate to win the poll, he or she must receive the majority of the votes of the responding party members. In the event of a tied final vote, the party president casts the deciding vote.

Section 7 ~ Amendments

For a formal amendment to be considered by the party, it must be sponsored by 15% of the active members of the party. It will then be put to a vote. An amendment is passed when a majority of the active members of the party vote in favor of the amendment. The party president will retain a veto over any amendment which they judge to be incompatible with sections 1 to 3 of the standard operating procedures.
