Recover Energy
The final part of the tutorial is to “recover energy”. As discussed earlier, you slowly build potential energy every 6 minutes until your potential energy pool is full - it will then stop until you recover some energy. To ensure you do not waste regeneration, you should time logins so that you can eat food to regenerate. Once you regenerate, your potential energy pool is transferred to your energy bank until it is full. Any remaining energy pool is left there. Regardless of your energy bank you will stop regenerating energy when your energy pool is full. Thus, it is important to eat before this fills up. Energy is recovered by eating food from your storage. We can visit your storage via the my places drop down. You can also go directly to your storage here
Checking your storage
As you can see you start with 100 food. On closer inspection, you'll note the food has 1 star, which indicates its 'quality'. Food and weapons have 7 qualities and houses have 5. Varying qualities of weapons and houses have differing rewards, but food is a little different. The amount of energy recovered by eating the food is quality*2, so Quality 1 food gives you 2 energy. So 100 food will let you recover 200 energy.
This is important as all tasks in the game consume energy. Working and training consume 10 energy, and fighting is variable depending on how many hits (each costing 10 energy) it takes to defeat an opponent. In our case we used 60 energy today and so we will consume 30 Q1 food recovering that energy.
Before we do that, you will also notice you have 5 Quality 5 weapons from the game, as well as one energy bar, the ghost booster we got earlier, and 2 “Food Raw materials”. You start the game with 1000 storage, and currently you are using 306. That is because raw materials use 100 storage each. To save space for food and weapons, you should sell these raw materials on the market, which we will do later. For now, let’s complete the tutorial.
Recovering energy
Click the blue “recover energy” button on the left hand side of the screen. This will restore you to 100 energy. You can do this from almost any screen in the game, not just in the storage. Once you have recovered to full health the tutorial will disappear, but don’t worry, there are still a lot more missions and guides to steer you through the early game. Going forward, whenever you do something, recover energy afterwards. Whenever you are on eRepublik, it’s important to make sure you transfer energy from your energy pool to your energy bank quickly; as even when your energy bank (which is now full at 100) is empty, you will not be able to recover energy unless your energy pool has space. So don’t be afraid to recover energy: you won’t miss out on anything or lose anything: rather, it’s only by not recovering energy that you’ll miss out.
