Now you can see you have all four training grounds available, and these ones cost gold to use. Each of these can be upgraded to increase the amount of strength they give you each time you use them, however the ‘paid’ training grounds are pretty useless to you for now, so we won’t look at them until much later on. However, upgrading the ‘free’ training ground is the cheapest and most efficient investment we can make: and this is why we won’t be spending any gold - so we can save up for this upgrade. There are monthly discounts, so we’ll be hoarding our gold until the next offer comes, and upgrading once a month until it’s fully upgraded. Now, back to the missions.

Until now, we have only had access to a free training ground, which gives us 5 strength per day. Additional paid training grounds may seem like a good idea, but they are neither useful, nor economical, for a new player - unless you buy gold from the game for real money. We can increase the strength we gain in other more economical ways, which we'll explore later on.

Go to the Campaign of the Day (or any other battle) from the home page, as we discussed earlier in the tutorial.

Next click the button to the right of the fight button, and select the option on the far left with the infinity sign (some browsers will also display -1). This makes you fight without any sort of weapon or booster. When you get more advanced you only want to fight with the highest quality (Q7) weapons. But for now, let’s save money and get those missions done. Note the additional box opened on the battlefield, this is the '''combat order''' panel. Sometimes, you can get paid extra money to fight, in the form of a CO (combat order).

When the combat order is green, it means it is active, and fighting now will result in an automatic payment to you. The figure shown is 40 GBP for every 1 million damage we do. As there is no way we’ll be able to do 1 million damage, each kill we do will be paid pro rata, so if we did 10,000 damage, we would receive an amount of GBP equivalent to 0.4 GBP. You’ll note that this is a tiny amount, and you are not wrong! There is, however, another type of fighting which is not only more favorable to us when we collect combat orders, but it’s also much easier for newer players to become competitive and strong in. We will use this type of battle to fight tomorrow: for now, let’s complete our mission!

Free food for completing that mission, and doing so opens up the reward screen. Every time you ‘rank up’ your damage will increase by 5%. Your damage per hit is calculated using your strength (which we gain daily using training grounds, as we did earlier) as well as your rank. Every time you fight, you receive rank points, and when you hit a certain amount, you will trigger a rank up, which will increase further damage done by 5% per hit, and give you an energy bar. These energy bars are expensive to buy: so we will save them for another time - don’t waste these!

Completing these missions has resulted in various rewards: three free weapons, an experience point and thanks to this, Level 4 is reached! The weapons I received are referred to by most players as Q5 (quality 5). Weapons have 7 qualities, with each quality offering incremental increases in damage output. That's not too important, for now the important thing is that I levelled up, which refills my energy bar. Helpful as I don’t have any energy right now. Every time you level up, you will receive 1 gold, and a free refill of your energy bank. Right now our energy bank and energy store aren’t so big, so when we level up it isn’t a huge amount of energy, but in the future, we’ll need to start thinking about tactical levelling up to ensure we don’t waste any energy gain. For now though, as we’re just starting out, the level ups are calculated based on tasks that will leave you with 0 energy, so we don’t need to worry about this yet.

Additional training grounds

After gaining more strength and experience points you will begin to level up and unlock new features. I reached Level 3 thanks to the 1xp from that last mission, and this unlocked access to additional training grounds.

Military missions

The next missions are military related:
- Gain the rank of private
- Defeat 5 enemies
- Join a military unit

Go to the Campaign of the Day (or any other battle) from the home page, as we discussed earlier in the tutorial.

Next click the button to the right of the fight button, and select the option on the far left with the infinity sign (some browsers will also display -1). This makes you fight without any sort of weapon or booster. When you get more advanced you only want to fight with the highest quality (Q7) weapons. But for now, let’s save money and get those missions done. Note the additional box opened on the battlefield, this is the combat order panel.

Free food for completing that mission and reaching 'private' rank. Every time you ‘rank up’ your damage will increase by 5% and you get a free energy bar. As discussed earlier energy bars are expensive to buy: so we will save them for another time - don’t waste these!

Your damage per hit is calculated using your strength (which we gain daily using training grounds) as well as your rank.

Military formulas
