“ Lonely soldiers, rugged and ruthless. They are known for their stamina and fitness, they can fight in the worst conditions at full pace. When these mountaineers enter the fight, you can push the shut down button, you’re screwed. They are known to be very effective and sometimes, their bravery enables them to fight not 5 times but 7 times with hospitals. I myself never been to one of their camps, I am curious what are their training methods. ”

Vanatorii de Munte (Mountain Hunters) was an elite military unit of Romania, renowned for hight spirit, flawless organization, will to fight and for their fights in service of Romania, having a huge contribution in the country military success.

On May 24, 2014, unit merged with Dracones into new unit, Dacia Immortalis.

Foundation

Many things was written about Vanatorii de Munte. Until the facts become legends, and legends turned into myths, no one could know from where hunters emerged. It said that some years ago or who knows, maybe even millennium, Han Solo and MickeyD set the first bases of Hunters of the mountain peaks. One by one, more passionate and skilled warriors have joined:MOBBY, Shoby, Dreams, Florshica, andyr, alexgl, Dumoras, Iluvatar and who knows how many others.

Some of them still saw him again we are climbing over the mountain and today, fighting bears with their bare hands... And like all legends, so this legend have it seed of truth, and after many searchings in the unit dark basement of archives, an act which looks that is the foundation release.

As you know, during the war i drove the National Guard and I forge Batalionul Vanatorii de Munte.

Uniforms

The unit poses two official uniforms: the uniform for the VM unit itsealf and the uniform for the academy, both of them can be seen in next section, as well as old version of the uniform.

The new uniform for VM was made by Iluvatar, famous for making uniforms of most important military units of Romania including VM, FAR and SP. The uniform is very well known, and consist in a cutout picture from a drill of Romanian Army, with two mountain hunters in a winter camouflage equipment in an attack stance, holding Ak 47 riffles in hands,stepping out from a two winged green frame, green representing the traditional color of romanian mountain troups (Vanatorii de Munte). The avatar is compleated by the name of the unit on top written using the national flag colors. All this elements are placed on a white background.

The AMVM academy uniform was made by Rudotelle.

Begining of 2011

In early 2011, the military unit had about 120 active members. Daily, 68% - 77% of the total members fight for Romania and allies. Military forces:

May 2011 (day 1275 of The New World)

The unit had 114 fighters, and started the Military Academy to raise the next generation of fighters, named AMVM. The military presence is between 82% and 91% every day, registering a constant number of over 90 fighters daily.
