Liberation of Iran (Asteria) and USA (anti-Asteria)
|
|
World War VII was a military conflict started on January 8, 2019 by Asteria's attack on Chile. Non aggression pact between Asteria and Argentina/Chile was signed in February 2018[1], which prevented direct conflicts between the signing parties and guaranteed safety of Argentina's and Chile's core regions. Chile used the NAP to protect its allies against being attacked, eg. USA from losing congress during its year-long occupation by Asteria and its allies[2].
The NAP was about to expire on January 5, 2019; the signing parties were unable to agree on terms anew and it was not extended[3]. The day after the NAP had expired, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia all proposed Chile as a natural enemy. Within the next 24 hours, Chilean allies retaliated with a total of nine countries attacking Romania. War soon spread over the world, with main war theatres being firstly Romanian colonies, followed by Hungarian core regions and finally Middle East.
The war set the new global damage records, which was aided in great part by winter treats, gained from gift packs during the Christmas event. The record setter was the battle for West Virginia[4] between Croatia and Serbia. The record for a highest single round damage was broken a few days later in a battle for Northwestern Iran[5] between Turkey and Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) (2.96 trillion damage vs 2.91 trillion in West Virginia battle), while the West Virginia battle retained the record for highest damage in a campaign.
The war ended in early March 2019 with liberation of Iran being a triumph for Asteria and liberation of USA being a victory for anti-Asteria.
Romania
Asteria's attack on Chile
Asteria members Romania[6], Serbia[7] and Bulgaria[8] proposed their attacks on Chile the same day. All four countries had regions in the territory of the USA and hence shared borders. In addition, Serbia also invaded Venezuela[9] for the purpose of removing Chile from the north of South America: Venezuela, Colombia and Peru. The two countries also shared border in Eastern Asia; Serbia had an active training war with China, while Chile had TW with Republic of China (Taiwan). However, the war with Serbia was closed and Chile kept TW with Republic of China (Taiwan).
Asteria successfully removed Chile from North America and north of South America, with Chile losing 14 regions in the process.
Chilean allies retaliate
As soon as Asteria sent laws to attack Chile, anti-Asteria started sending a laws of their own and their target was Romania. In total, nine countries took part in this assault: Chile (NE)[10], Croatia (AS)[11], Cyprus (AS)[12], Thailand (AS)[13], Greece (AS)[14], Hungary (NE)[15], Argentina (NE)[16], Albania (AS)[17] and USA (NE)[18].
Romania decided to ignore most attacks; instead, it opted out to focus attack on Chile (successfully) and try to defend against Greece (unsuccessfully). All anti-Asteria attacks other than Chile and USA were a success, with five countries taking one region each, Greece conquering three and Hungary conquering two. Despite that, Romania wasn't expelled from neither North America nor east Asia; however, it did lose positions in Oceania and India.
Mexico as well decided to help the cause, by attacking Serbia. The battle was lost and soon afterwards the border cut, hence the war was closed.
Romanian allies get involved
- United Arab Emirates attacked Mexico[19] and successfully landed, but the border between the two countries was cut by Turkey, who had an active training war with Mexico.
- Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) attacked Thailand[20] and removed it from India. Thailand unsuccessfully attacked Bulgaria[21] in response.
- Portuguese congress approved an airstrike to Thailand[22], but it was wiped before Portugal could attack, hence the war was closed.
- Bulgaria attacked Cyprus[23] and removed it from USA.
- France attacked Cyprus in South America via airstrike[24] and conquered the region in a battle that saw the new world record for the highest damage in a campaign set by Mithrantir (500,000,059,578 for Cyprus: achieved while trying to defend Southern Low Amazon against France on day 4,071).
- In Oceania, Iran successfully attacked Albania[25] and removed it from the region.
Greece conquered the last Romanian region on the East coast of USA before Romania conquered the last Chilean region and the war between the two countries was temporarily closed. Romania had one region remaining in North America, British Columbia. Croatia invaded Canada in the attempt to reach Romania. In response, Serbia attacked Croatia and conquered its three regions in Canada as well as the one in Venezuela.

Greece – Romania War resumes
The border the two countries being re-opened, the countries engaged in a battle of quick fingers and Romania emerged as a winner, sending the NE law 2 seconds before Greece did. This time the tides had turned and Romania easily conquered all three Greek regions on North American soil.

Hungary
Along with the other countries attacking Romanian colonies, Hungary invaded its core regions[26]. Bulgaria had an open war with Romania and moved towards the border with Hungary in order to prevent it from taking Romanian regions. Hungary managed to conquer Maramures and Crisana before Bulgaria closed the border and proposed Hungary as a natural enemy[27], which allowed Romania to reclaim its lost regions via resistance wars.

The war is closed by Bulgaria taking the last bordering region between Romania and Hungary.
Stage 2: Invasion of Hungary
Slovenia also declared war to Hungary[28] and successfully attacked its regions in Slovakia and Austria, while at the same time Bulgaria invaded its original regions. Croatia then declared war to Hungary[29] to stop Bulgaria from doing going further. After reaching the border with Bulgaria, Croatia declared it as a natural enemy[30] and declared war to Slovenia[31] as well. Bulgaria kept attacking Hungary, followed by Serbia taking Bulgarian regions there, as the two had an open training war. Due to high determination, Hungary easily liberated its southern regions from Serbia, but was unable to liberate Central Hungary as well.

Cyclic war and liberation
The war seemed to have no conclusion, with Bulgaria defeating Hungary, Croatia defeating Bulgaria, Slovenia and Poland (who had training war with Slovenia at the moment), Serbia defeating Croatia and taking Bulgarian regions, which in turn, were being liberated by Hungary due to high determination and then again conquered by Bulgaria. While Poland was removed from Slovenia, Serbia caught up with Croatia in Slovakia and Austria[32][33]. Hungarian resistance managed to free the country from Bulgaria during their war with Turkey. Croatia and Slovenia signed a peace treaty.[34][35]
Initial Turkish fronts
Turkey didn't join the initial campaign against Romania. Instead, they started warring against Poland and Lithuania, and later Iran and Bulgaria. Turkey proved to be highly successful in the war, being the only undefeated anti-Asteria country for the major part of the War.
Poland
Poland airstriked Chile in Northern Cyprus[36], and the war was closed due to loss of common border. Turkey replied by attacking Poland first in Northern Cyprus and then removing it from Georgia[37]. Chile remained safe in Turkish border and continued its TWs with Cyprus and Turkey as soon as Poland was removed.

Turkey–Poland War

Poland was defeated by Turkey.
Finland
Finland was already occupied by Turkey and Hungary prior to the beginning of the war. The reason, according to the Turkish government, was Pacifica's campaign against Turkey in the summer of 2017. Finally, the agreement between the parties was reached on January 16, 2019. In exchange for official apology by Finnish government for their actions in the aforementioned war, Turkey agreed to retreat from Finland while Hungary would remain there to maintain a training war[38].
Lithuania
Lithuania had occupied Thailand a few days prior to the beginning of the war. After dealing with Poland and reaching an agreement with Finland, Turkey invaded Lithuania via airstrike[39]. Lithuania showed little to no resistance and Turkey easily overcame it.

Turkish occupation of Iran
Turkish occupation of Iran is one of the main war theatres of World War VII. It began when Turkey launched an attack on Iran, following its dismissal of Lithuania from Thai regions and it resulted in several weeks long occupation of Iran. Turkey was aided by Argentina and Hungary initially, and later by Chile, Croatia, Cyprus and South Korea. Iran had assistance of Asteria, as well as Latvia. Poland, Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Spain. This turned out to be the longest operation in the war so far, being active since January 18 until March 7.
North American theatre reopens
On January 22, Romania proposed an airstrike to Malaysia[40] and NE to North Korea[41]; both countries border Turkish colonies in South/East Asia. In response, Croatia[42] and Greece[43] have proposed airstrikes to Romania, while USA proposed Romania as a natural enemy[44]. Romania did not provide much resistance to airstriking countries; it mostly focused on USA. Same tactics were used as in previous invasion: Romania attacked USA after attacks of Croatia and Greece were already into a few rounds, which meant that the border between the countries' would be lost and the wars will be closed, but Romania would still keep a region in the area. Anticipating the same tactics again, Greece used the same technique as Croatia and kept an open war with Romania[45], thus temporarily expelling it from the USA.
Romania still had regions in Canada and an open way to USA's West Coast regions. To prevent this, Saudi Arabia launched an airstrike to Montana, USA and blocked Romania's entrance to the mentioned regions. This did not seem to go against Romanian plans. Romania used active training war with Bulgaria to move to South West of England, a region with borders six American East Coast regions. Thus, after Greece–Romania war was closed due to loss of common border, with Greece conquering Romania's last region in USA (New Jersey), Romania immediately attacked Massachusetts and proposed Greece as a natural enemy[46]; the border was lost before start of the campaign and the war was closed. Greece managed to propose Romania as a natural enemy[47], while Bulgaria used their training war to follow Romania into Massachusetts[48], thus cutting the border and closing the war between Greece and Romania.
Romania used its position to conquer American regions Connecticut and New Hampshire and that way limited the number of regions Croatia and Greece are able to take.
Serbia vs Croatia and Greece
Before its war with Serbia in Austria[49] was to be closed, Croatia proposed it as a natural enemy[50]. Serbia had already set Croatia as a natural enemy and couldn't propose the law again. The border was lost as Serbia conquered last Croatian region there, but the law voting didn't stop. The two countries regained border later that day, in USA's regions. With Croatia's law still active, it meant that it was going to have initiative in the upcoming war[51].
The battle for West Virginia[52] set the record for most damage made in a battle, with 2.9 trillion damage being done in division 4 of round 5 alone and c. 7.73 trillion damage in the campaign overall. During the battle, Serbia proposed NE to Croatia as well[53], in addition to declaration of war to Greece the previous day[54]. Serbia managed to turn over the battle from 0:47 to 94:62 and defend its stronghold in West Virginia. Croatia released the only bordering region, Maryland, to USA; however, the same day Serbia also defeated Greece in Pennsylvania, thus keeping the war open by maintaining a common border with Croatian regions New York and New Jersey.
The battle of West Virginia proved decisive in the North American theatre; the subsequent battles were fought with lack of spirit from both Croatia and Greece and Serbia easily managed to overcome the two countries[55][56]. Bulgaria has used its positioning in Massachusetts to declare Greece as a natural enemy[57] and has joined Serbia in expelling Greece from North America. The countries' cores also have a common border, meaning that the war will be moved to Balkans stage.

Croatia and Greece are expelled from the North America.
- War progression
Campaign started with Croatian (light blue) attack on West Virginia, which Serbia (red) defended and defeated Greece (blue) in Pennsylvania the same day.
The next day Serbia defeated Croatia in New Jersey,
followed by victories in New York and Delaware. While Romania dealt with USA (navy blue),
Bulgaria joined for a victory over Greece in Vermont. With Serbian conquest of Maryland, the war was closed.
Bulgaria vs Greece
Following expulsion of Greece from the USA, in which Bulgaria actively took part, the war moved to the area of Balkans, with Greece replying with a NE declaration to Bulgaria[58] as well. Bulgaria had already acquired two of Greece's regions before the war even began: Macedonia was taken from Turkey and Epirus was taken from the USA.
Bulgaria managed to conquer Thessaly as well before Croatia took over surrounding regions of Greece, closed the war and proposed Bulgaria as a natural enemy[59]. Bulgaria sent the NE law as well[60], and the next day managed to both suppress Greek resistance and defend from Croatian attack. Border with Greece was open again due to Croatia returning Central Greece to Greece; Bulgaria sent a DoW[61], while Greece replied with a NE declaration[62]. Albania set Bulgaria as NE as well[63].

Bulgaria–Greece War
|
|
Following conquest of Thrace, Bulgarian wars with both Greece[64] and Croatia[65] were closed due to swapping of regions between Greece, Croatia and USA. As soon as it was possible, Bulgaria sent a net set of laws[66][67]. Again, due to swapping of regions, no wars were started.
When Croatia attacked Marmara, Turkey to prevent Serbia from attacking it, a common border was created between Croatia and Bulgaria, followed by natural enemy declarations from both sides[68][69]. Croatia had the initiative; defending the first attack and gaining the initiative would give Bulgaria possibility to attack Croatia in Ionian Islands; before that was possible, Greece reclaimed Epirus through the resistance war, thus closing the border in Greek regions (Bulgaria still shared border with Croatia in Turkey). Furthermore, Greece declared Bulgaria as a natural enemy[70]-

As Croatia conquered Thrace and Macedonia, the war was closed due to loss of common border.
Croatian occupation of Portugal
After the situation in Greece and Turkey settled down, Croatia airstriked Portugal[71]. As soon as Croatia landed, war was declared to Cuba[72], who had a training war with Portugal in Portuguese cores. Slovenia launched airstrike to Cuba[73] to prevent Croatia from taking its cores.
Croatia easily overcame both Portugal and Cuba and conquered all Portuguese core regions in order to reach border with Romanian regions in Canada. As soon as Azores were in Croatian hands, Romania and Croatia proposed each other as a natural enemy[74][75]. Argentina had an active training war with Portugal and used its presence in the region to conquer Azores and that way, prevented the war between Romania and Croatia.
Croatia didn't have a serious attention to invade Portugal; the occupation turned into a training war[76].
Liberation of USA
Asteria countries have been keeping USA occupied for almost a year. As the time was going by, determination kept getting higher and due to Asteria being engaged elsewhere, it wasn't being reset. Finally, on March 10, USA was completely liberated. However, due to constant danger of being invaded again, American government has decided to keep only 17 of their 51 regions, while the others would be held by their allies, both to protect them and maintain training wars[77].
