ypourgos, was born on March the 31st 2010 in Crete, Greece.

General Information
He was originally taken under the wing of mentor BDD_7 of the Greek National New Players Mentorship Program and shown the ropes. His first uttered sentence in #eGreece IRC channel, indicative of his intentions, was something along the lines of: “Hello, I came to rule eGreece!”. And he did… for a while.
With his fiery anti-elitist rhetoric and practices, he has grown to be one of the most controversial figures in modern Greece, red-flag to some but beloved by others. A fierce political leader once, remains highly influential in certain circles, even in cool-down mode.
Politics may be his passion but business is his game. An active entrepreneur and philanthropist, maintains a wide industrial infrastructure providing employment and welfare benefits to many. Seemingly opportunist, a true adventurer, he is willing to take the risk if it will pay well.
Politics
First Encounter
The political party of his choice was originally GIP, selected for its economic policy and easygoing nature. Denied a shot at a Congress seat by party president Ektonosiakos on the pretence of inexperience, he decides to pursuit his political career elsewhere.
Building A Name
He joins Kinima Orthodoxou Toxou (KOT), upon invitation by Lakis Moore, whose “heretic” foreign policy recommendations he begins to embrace. He authors the first official charter of the party, creates the forum and IRC channel. In May 2010, he is elected congressman in Epirus under the KOT banner, on KEE’s (a.k.a. EEK) ticket. He eventually succeeds Lakis Moore as party president and holds the reigns himself for two months. In the meantime, he concludes a country presidential race as a third runner-up. In the shady party elections that follow he loses chair to lefteris konstantinidis, who goes on to re-brand the party to Patriotiko Kinima (PAK) and support a presidential candidate without consulting the members. At this stage, ypourgos, feels like a foreign body and decides once again to flee for greener pastures.
Back to Base
He strikes a deal to manage GIP companies for a slice of the profits, which brings him back into the party, holding the title of Material Assets Director. In June 2010, he becomes a member of the Department of Education committee, during the Geokos administration. In September 2010, he is assigned as Deputy Minister of Commerce under Minister Thanasis Shoinas (a.k.a. Tan Ice) for President thando, but resigns his post due to disagreement with government policy. He also enters Congress for a second time.
Back in GIP, the party seems to have lost former glory and status since the ostracization from the Greek community of titan Buck Roger and to run on momentum alone. Despite conscientious efforts by presidents Makedonissa and naron the party just could not revive. Trapped in an “uncomfortable” alliance with EDA and EPD it had barely room to breathe.
The Rise to Power
It was then that ypourgos stepped up. Endorsed by retiring president naron, and despite suspicion and discontent from older members, in January 2011 he becomes party president and immediately rolls up the sleeves: Restructures the party’s executive organs and issues the first official chart; improves on party infrastructure by creating a YouTube channel, a Facebook profile and a radio station; and on the side makes it a third time into Congress, while being Minister of Commerce for President Beboulinos.
Under these circumstances, sleeping giant terastiosoe awakes and with his know-how, combined with ypourgos’s enviable dedication, membership begins to grow substantially. Ypourgos works together with Thanasis Shoinas, commander of TMF, to further GIP’s presence and influence among the ranks of the unit by founding a special division called GIP-TMF with emphasis on new players’ recruitment and retention. He launches various social development schemes, including the ambitious housing program “HouseGIPing” that he funds himself.
He cashes in big time on his reputation in March 2011 congressional elections. He is triumphantly elected congressman, gathering one hundred twenty-six (126) votes, more than any other candidate.
On account of increased activity and personal ideology ypourgos decides to do away with political alliances of the past and takes GIP on a “left” turn towards SDU. The new strategic partnership is sealed in April when SDU endorses GIP’s presidential candidate, Thanasis Shoinas, who is eventually victorious, the first president from GIP ever to be elected. Ypourgos is there to help him. He returns in the Department of Education, along with terastiosoe, under Minister of New Players EleniG. Under his leadership, GIP reaches an all-time high of 300 hundred members and is placed 2nd in the relevant list. While the future seems brighter than ever past ghosts and conflicts come back to haunt GIP: Thanasis Shoinas is impeached.
Going Down in Glorious Flames
Ypourgos opts to raise the tones and bring the quarrel to extreme, forsaking GIP’s no-conflict attitude. To strengthen his positions in the ensuing battle he offers political refuge to an EM’s expatriate, ESETAI HMAR and his Military Unit, Lynx. GIP has secured extensive member-base once again.
In an all-in move in June ypourgos proclaims himself presidential candidate and finally realizes his eRepublik life aspiration: he is president of Greece! Alas, Greece faces annihilation at the hands of FYROMians. Ypourgos is unable to inspire the country’s Military Units to fight in concord and the country is wiped off the map. Ypourgos dissolves his cabinet and calls for a National Salvation Government. It is decided that he can no longer lead the Greeks and thus he is impeached. Before he went down however, he had sowed the seeds of a major diplomacy maneuver, the approach with the INCI community of Cyprus.
June was also his last term as party president. He however remains to this time the party’s Material Assets Director.
Military
Before Myrmidons became an elite-only unit, ypourgos was a member of their training division. Yes, that is right: ypourgos was a Myrmidon! His next experience with organized warfare was GIP-TMF, his own initiative, a special division of TMF designed for player recruitment and retention. Next comes Lynx, where he takes on mostly financial duties. After an extended dormant period, he comes back into the MU scenery as the Commander of the short-lived G-Force, a relaxed unit of his own making with mainly economic preoccupations. He is now a member of Sarissa Warriors.
Media
Ypourgos is the owner and editor of The Presidents. The newspaper was originally founded to publish interviews with presidents around the world, hence the title. Later it became the podium for ypourgos’s anti-elitisism sermons. It now serves to publicize a variety of lotteries.
Social
Through his terms in the Department of Education, he tried to institute a tripartite pedagogical system (School of New Players [pm-based] > Academy of New Players [IRC-based] > School of Public Administration [IRC-based]) that would ultimate yield the country’s new businesspeople, diplomats and public servants.
He was actively involved with the charity organization Orthodoxi Ekklisia Tis Ellados (OETE)[Orthodox Church of Hellas (OCH)], where he was anointed Bishop of Thrace & Aegean Islands by Archbishop Gyftokampos.
He recently iniatiated a co-operation network and think-tank, under the Secret Greek Movement (SGM) label. It is designed to offer supplies and guidance to any player that seeks them with the ultimate goal of bringing a breeze of fresh air into the Greek community.
