Welcome to the eRepublik Bar

Remember to sign (~~~~) your comments!

Speech balloon.png What is the bar?

The Bar is a place in which editors can exchange their ideas, or drink a beer.

After introducing yourself at the Community Portal, you can learn what changes need to be made, see what projects are going underway and take part in many active discussions. You are welcome to start a new discussion, but keep in mind that all articles have their own talk pages, and please remember to sign your comments!

In summary, how we treat each other does matter. It matters because, without empathy, our lives are shallow, self-centered and meaningless.

Stock post message.png To-Do list

We need editors and translators!
If you are new and don't have any experience with wiki at all - ask for help in the Bar!
Dear editors and translators, we need you to:

Projects

If you want to help, there is a big deal of articles that have to be updated:

And also, a lot of articles has to be translated from English to other languages:

For translators, check the ending of your language - for example, for Croatian language search for /Hrvatski, for Finnish article search for /Suomi. --AndyCro Icon-Croatia.png Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 16:12, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Translations

A lot of changes has been made in the last months and currently we have tons of translations out of date providing outdated information to your fellow countrymen. So I urge you, our dear translators, to check every article there is about game play in this wiki that has been translated to your language and update them. You can start by updating articles found from Category:Outdated. --Icon-Finland.png sampo555 | Talk 14:13, 26 June 2011 (PDT)

Fresh start

Changelog:
Template:Bar reverted to old look (with major discussions and archives)
Bar 2012 January - March Archived

And now that we've proclaimed ourselves as sysops, channel owners, Über editors and etc. it's time for a fresh clean start! I think April is a good month to do that, especially around the Eastern holidays!
Now in the past 2-3 months we all saw how the wiki vandalism has grown. Report anything you see here or leave me a message on my talk page, so that the appropriate punishments are given. --DanielDimow||Speak to me. 06:23, 3 April 2012 (PDT)

eUK main page: Repeated Vandalism

Alfagrem has for the third time edited the United Kingdom main wiki page to be the "Kingdom of England" wiki page as a protest against a region swap with Ireland. The first time was reverted by another editor and the second by me because this seems like quite obvious vandalism/biased editing. I'm not going to revert again and get into an edit war so I'm asking here for some backup!--Goku Jones 12:07, 6 April 2012 (PDT)

Oops, I reverted it again. But again, wiki war is not the goal. Fictitious and biased information ahoy! --Iain Keers 13:59, 6 April 2012 (PDT)
I say we block both users that are in this editing war until such time as the general public sees fit, also we allow the page to stay non fiction so there is no confusion! --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 20:42, 6 April 2012 (PDT)
Er... both users? Alfagrem is obviously vandalising the page by changing the name of the country. Also there are now THREE editors reverting his edits and TWO posting here about him - which one of us would you also like to block? :/ --Goku Jones 02:09, 7 April 2012 (PDT)
/me raises the banhammer, aaand...
Alfagrem has been blocked. See IP block list to review blocks.

Guillotinism

Please take a look at the possible acceptance of the new religion, Guillotinism.

Thank you.

I'd like to see another religion finally make the wiki lmao :P. --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 05:20, 22 April 2012 (PDT)

"do we really need redirects for language pages?"

yes, i think we do! The concerning case is on Create company/Deutsch this page.

Reasons: a) There's also a redirection at the english page --> it's something like a translation b) It's also linked in the "MenuEconomy"-template so otherwise the page would be blank/red which is just ugly :/ c) Talking before removing anything would be nice ...

Community communication & Venezuela

To everyone involved in an edit war on Community communication page: what is going on with this #eVene/#eVenezuela? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 03:11, 29 April 2012 (PDT)

e.g. Santirub, IJose and possibly others --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 03:12, 29 April 2012 (PDT)

We realize it hasn't been apropiate behavior to do it like that. But, the citizen Santirub has put #eVenezuela as the Offcial chanel, when in truth, it has nothing to do with the country, but with people that are considered traitors. The real Official channel, is #eVene. Our apologies for the inconvenieces. --IJose 09:45, 29 April 2012 (PDT)

Oh hai there. To clarify the topic, since years the channels #eVene and #eVenezuela exists (even #eVen which turned into #eVenezuela), and both have worked as official Channel in different periods. I disregard which is the official channel nowadays, but i can assure that both are access point to the eVenezuelan community, and both have representatives and people from eVenezuela. The fact of being mad with some @s of the channel #eVenezuela, isn't a fair excuse to remove the channel from the list, just harms the community. I don't know (and don't care) which should be first and which should be second, i only know that the channel #eVenezuela is a tool of the community and must not be removed just for pure butthurtism. --Santirub«say me hi :3» 13:21, 29 April 2012 (PDT)

The Channel #eVenezuela, has NEVER been an official Venezuelan channel, in fact, it's owner (Cebec) is known as a traitor to the country, not only cause he went against what most Venezuelans wanted (butthurt) but because he's also guilty of the robbery of several National ORGs and State owned money. He's not even eVenezuelan at the moment and neither is the citizen Santirub, who's eArgentinian and has been editing the section as well. That channel has not been used by any goverment as an official one, so i don't see a reason why it should be posted as such. Thanks for your attention. --IJose 07:06, 30 April 2012 (PDT)

Hi again. First thing to talk: IJose, this isn't a forum where you throw shit with your pals, this is the eRepublik Wiki, so calm down and behave please. Second: please, use the convention of indentation ":" to understand easier the conversation. Now going to the topic, i want to show you in which periods that channel was official: here, here, and here (as i said before, #eVen has turned into #eVenezuela, so it's the same channel with different name). I'm the owner of both channels, and FYI i've founded the three channels. I really don't care with who you are mad, if you believe he/she did something wrong, go and talk with the eRepublik Team http://www.erepublik.com/en/tickets, but please, do not bring your problems in here. Regards, --Santirub«say me hi :3» 12:21, 30 April 2012 (PDT)

RLY? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 09:31, 1 May 2012 (PDT)
YA RLY ;3. I don't see mayor problems, Community communication is full of multiple channels, or they are all wrong, or there is a problem with Venezuela, dunno.--Santirub«say me hi :3» 10:31, 2 May 2012 (PDT)

Updating citizen pages "aka" getting rewards

Recently I've noticed there has been quite several wiki editors which have been editing the citizen pages or updating them to get the well known wiki rewards. However I've noticed some people do actually try to update the pages, whereas others just edit the levels. Since it's starting to be a trend and in few months we'll have people which will be fighting with hundreds if not thousands of citizen pages edits just to get the rewards, therefore I think now its time to actually do something to stop it happening. Not sure what exactly can be done, but maybe some sort of restrictions about editing the citizen pages and getting rewards for it... I'm pretty sure the wiki was suppose to be useful resource of information not a place where people ehm maybe spam with small edits in order to get their monthly reward. --"Icon-Switzerland.png Gucio" 15:32, 22 May 2012 (PDT)

I propose that only 10-30 edits a day be counted towards rewards so that it's more who's active on the wiki than who can spam 1 day and get the reward! --Icon-Canada.pngCode-Y Talk/Projects 15:33, 22 May 2012 (PDT)

I am fairly new (around 2 months old now) and my initial thought of getting the reward was with a "fair and square fight". Up until the 21st of May my contributions were made in such manner. But, then I saw that scheme for the first time and started practicing it myself (guided by the fact I can't beat them) in order to "secure" my honest hard work. My suggestion to the matter is to change the formula by which the contributions are measured. Instead of valuing "unique" changes, the amount of information provided should be measured. However, to prevent overflowing the Wiki with BS, the contributions MUST be made EXCLUSIVELY based on facts not fictional information. -- Icon-Macedonia.png Destroyer S87 12:03, 23 May 2012 (CEST)
You realize I can simply exclude spammers from getting a reward? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 03:23, 26 May 2012 (PDT)
