Gerovės Sąjunga (GS) was a political party in Lithuania. In its peak time it had around 100 members. In October 2010, party was merged with Lietuvos liberaldemokratai to create new party - Lietuvos_liberalu_partija.

GS Party Mission

New politics for the new world!
(One of their mottos)

Politics

The party tried not to have only one ideology, to avoid profiling them as a red, blue, social or capitalistic party; their ambition was to pick the best from different political ideas and use it for Lithuania’s best. They were willing to try new methods to reach success.

Economy

GS was for a mixed economy as they believed that the game was designed for, and worked best, with the mixed economy. GS did not wanted to limit the freedom of the individual – the Lithuania people should have the possibility to create their own companies. But, in their belief, the market economy in the New World also had (have) a few economic “holes”. GS was in favor that these holes should be adjusted by government intervention.

Society

GS worked to get an active, involved population – and smooth communication between Lithuanians was a prerequisite for that. The creation of social bonds in the New World was considered to be very important.

Military

GS was for a strong and active defense that found role-playing and creative solutions most pleasing. GS had no intention to wage war for the war itself. It was considered that it gives too little compared to the cost. The strength of a country in their view was not measured in regions. GS wanted Lithuanian soldiers to be given generous possibilities to fight in foreign conflicts, preferably in cooperation with other units from allied nations. By doing this, the Lithuanian soldiers received the possibility to gain military rank and experience.

Media

GS considered free journalism to be the most valuable tool to spread information and valuations. Everyone should have the right to write what they think about the world they live in, as long as they stay within the game rules.
